Beautiful! Off topic: I love the bouquet in your avatar. Was that your wedding bouquet?

OMG, Gypsy, I lived in Walnut Creek for 9 years!!! My son was born at John Muir Hospital!!! Her work is just beautifu. Your urn arrangements were absolutely awesome!

How funny!!! Small world.

The urns were amazing weren''t they? Just freaking unbelievable. But honestly, the high table arrangements for the reception were my favorite.

Gosh, Gypsy, I never saw that thread! Those pictures are beautiful!!! I''ve looked for your wedding pics, but I didn''t think you had posted any yet.

Seriously? I thought you were joking when you posted that bit about square emerald cuts. Nevermind.

I know they are square emerald cuts bgray. Thank you, though.

well i am confused--this was written above the photo you posted "Vatche Caroline with asscher's in shank:" thats why I said that............

bgray, they are actually not even square emerald cuts. They are square step cuts, square baguettes.... to be emerald cuts they would have to have clipped corners and I don't think they do from the pic. It's not listed (at least I couldn't find it, but the site always baffles me anyway) on the dvatche site so I can't be sure what cut it is.

I thought you were correcting me as a joke, because I was being lazy when I said 'asschers' in the shank-- as a short cut (although technically incorrect) for square step cut, and you were calling me on it. You know like when someone says "My favorite nut is the peanut" and someone says (as a joke usually): "They aren't nuts, they are legumes."

The term asscher DOES refer to square emerald cuts however, so if they had been octagonal square step cuts I would not have been incorrect in calling them asschers. I have a square emerald cut as my center stone on my e-ring. And yes, the GIA cert does say square emerald cut, but I am not lying when I call my center an asscher.

no so sorry -i wasnt trying to call you out or be obnoxious. i have seen the tiffany version and knew they were just squares ............no offense meant. you are right though about the corners. good point.

No worries.

The Tiffany version is amazing. It''s my favorite Tiffany setting actually. The only problem with the Tiffany version is that A) the side view is kinda boring and B) you can only get a round for it. The Vatche''s side view is boring too, but at least you can put whatever you want in it and it''s pretty affordable.

But in case anyone is lurking... if I wanted something like the Tiffany (but didn''t want a round) and had the budget I''d have a talented designer make one for me... with a completely re-designed side view.

it is a stunning ring .............i am a sucker for the stones set into the sides. I saw an amazing ring once. the shank was actually two separate bands spaced a little apart from eachother set all the way around with rectangular baguettes and a 5 carat EC set on top of these two bands--a drooler!

That sounds beautiful!

Have you seen Canturi''s cubism collection? Beautiful step cuts. I''m not a fan of them as settings. but their bands and bracelets make me just stare in awe.

Have you seen this Leon, BTW? I found it today and am absolutely lusting for it. So simple and beautiful.

I''m gonna guess 5-7K on the low side. It''s in his for sale items.

Thanks Gypsy! It was me and Im still in the market! I am getting really close to makeing my decision, right now im leaning towards the leone that was posted but Im headed to the site to check this one out right now.

Thanks again!

Hi Jay, I''m so glad! Please post pics when you have your ring.

I didn''t find this one on the DVatche site (sometimes not all of their settings are listed) I found it on the Excel Diamonds site, but any Vatche dealer can get it for you including Goodoldgold and Winkjones.
