Okay here goes...
My husband purchased my diamond from a mall jeweler about 12 years ago for $3000. Recently, I knocked it on something and the prong was bent. After looking further, I thought I had chipped it. Anyway, I called my insurance company who asked me to send the ring to them. They employ a GIA gemologist who told me that the ring has a long indented natural which was covered by the prong. Well, now the insurance company will only insure the ring for about $1700 and I feel like we got the shaft! I agree with the gemologist and understand why they won''t insure it for what we paid for it; but, I am upset that this company misrepresented the ring they sold us. Do I have any recourse? I guess I could present it all to the mall jeweler but I don''t know if I want to anymore business with them......
