Hi
Please can someone tell me if I''m taking too much of a risk by buying emerald cut diamond studs that come with a GIA certificate from an online store. They are HI colour and VS1/VS2 and .90ct. The seller mentioned the certificate stated the cut was very good. I know I hardly have any information to pass on but I was really wanting to know if there was a way of determining you were purchasing a pair of studs that really sparkled without seeing them through making sure there was either a GIA or AGS certificate that rated the cut as being either excellent or ideal. I was given a pair of diamond studs for Xmas and they were somewhat cloudy with GH and SI1 gradings. I was so disappointed but I guess the cut must have been bad.
As I''m wanting to match my favourite ring which is the prettiest/brightest princess cut being only .56ct, I''m not sure whether to choose princess cut earrings or just stay with a cut that is squarish. I do not wear my ring all the time anyway. Naturally, my main concern is the sparkle with whatever I choose.
I''ve really enjoyed myself reading heaps of posts on this forum. As so many other people have mentioned there is much more to consider when selecting a diamond/s.
I feel as though I''m going around in circles as I can''t even decide on the cut of the stone be it round, princess & so on. Any help would be very much appreciated.
