I've been researching this site for a few months now and have learned quite a bit.

I am still looking through white flash, good old gold, and some other sites to find the exact diamond I am looking for, but in the meantime I found a setting I like: http://www.adiamor.com/R-941-R2582-1.htm. Just for reference, I will be getting a round diamond, most likely H&A ideal cut, but still looking around at combinations for the right clarity and color.

Two things though: I am looking to put around a 1.2 carat diamond in it (somewhere between 1.1 and 1.4 carat) thus I think 2.5mm or 2.0mm would be more proportionate and I didn't like how a 3mm ring looked on my girlfriends finger. Also, I have read about others purchasing settings from Adiamor and returning them due to poor quality - I'm waiting to hear back from them if I can get it in 2.0 or 2.5mm. If so, I'll give it a shot and return it if I'm not happy.

In the meantime, does anyone know where I might find a similar setting? It definitely has to be 4-prong, white gold, not cathedral, and would like it to be similar to the link given. Haven't had any luck in coming close locally or online.

Thanks for the help!

Any ideas? Need more information?

sorry...i am a newbie and don''t know about Adiamor at all, but I do like the setting

Have you tried contacting Whiteflash or GOG to see if they could make something similar? It''s a very simple setting and I''m sure they could do something similar with the stone of your dreams.
You could even send them the picture....

Good Luck!

That does look like a setting many of the setting companies would make, so I would not order it from there. I would wait and order from the place you get the diamond from. That setting is not going to really have the same effect when made 2.0 to 2.5, so I would really just wait and look at the settings from your diamond vendor. It is so much easier to have them set your stone.

So what you''re saying is that by making it 2.0 or 2.5mm, it probably won''t look as good with the sharp edges as it does at 3.0mm?

Well, in that case, do you think with it being 3.0mm width, a 1.1 - 1.4 carat diamond would look proportionate in that size setting? In other words, I don''t want the ring to peek out from under the diamond when looking from above (which if I remember right a 1.2 carat diamond would be around 6mm wide so I''m just making things up to worry about)
