Solitaire or side baguettes for AVC?

Hello! My DH and I are closing in on a 1.5 ct. AVC. I'm trying to decide between a simple cathedral solitaire and a tapered baguette setting. I'll be wearing the ring as an engagement ring with my plain, (low-dome?) 1.5 mm band. Ring size 4.5.

Wondering if anyone had experience/suggestions about the pros/cons of these different settings for an AVC. Would the more linear, splintery facet pattern of baguettes not jive with the more luscious faceting of the AVC? Does my finger size matter--would there be not as much "room" for baguettes? (I prefer long, slender baguettes that kind of visually melt into the shank rather than more triangular-looking baguettes that give a three-stone appearance.)

Also, I wonder if there are considerations re: wearing the ring--whether solitaire or side-baguette--next to my wedding band: should I aim for the same width/dome on the shank? Should I think about a gap vs. no gap?

I have been wearing a three-stone anniversary band from DH's family as an engagement ring, so I don't have a lot of solitaire experience. Thank you!

Hi!
I would choose a solitaire to put emphasis to the diamond.
In case you missed, some lovely pictures here

What does the wedding band look like? The one you want to wear with it. That’ll probably determine my opinion…

From the OP first post in this thread:"I'll be wearing the ring as an engagement ring with my plain, (low-dome?) 1.5 mm band. Ring size 4.5."

I did a Google search to see if there was a picture, and here's an example of a cushion with side baguettes in a less antique-looking setting than the Victor Barbone ones linked above.

The tapered baguettes is one of my all time favourite settings....

....but in this case I think the classic solitaire is what I'd go for, and with delicate double prongs!
(With or without pave on the shank, depending on your personal taste)

Great point about the size/proportion. The side baguette settings I like are ones where the baguettes sort of melt into the shank and appear very slender compared with the center stone; however, with a 1.5ct. center, that look might not be as achievable. I tried on a 1.5 ct. in a jewelry store and I feel like with my finger size, that weight looks substatial for me (on my hand/for my lifestyle/in my social circles), but that doesn't change how it would play with side baguettes. Thanks for the perspective! I was leaning solitaire before and now I"m feeling really confirmed in that!
