I'm trying to acertain if this is a bad image or significant leakage below the crown. The center looks to be light so maybe it's overly backlit? Any opinions overall are appreciated! 3X, SI1 HCA 1.9

Looks good, possibly a higher crown 36/40.6 combo with 56/57 table, different flavour of diamond with the skinnier arrows abd proportions but should be a good performer.

Looks like a lighting issue to me with the photo. There is a significant white patch around 7 o’clock.

Nice edge to edge red saturation. This could be a go-er.

Wow you guys are good! Thanks all. Proportions below. It also has several twining wisps throughout (hence the SI1)
Depth: 62.4%
Table: 57%
Crown < 36
Pavilion <40.6

Also, what's the impact of a higher crown (if any) and how would it affect if/how this is placed in a halo setting?

I wouldn't go over 35.5 for crown angle with a 40.6 pavilion angle. Your lower girdle facets appear to be maybe 79-80 because the arrows are very skinny. That stone just gets very good for light return and scintillation and I wouldn't settle for less than excellent on those. Spread is almost always very good on ideal cut stones, though. The other three need to be excellent. I think you can do better, but this is not a bad stone.

These are measurements to help you stay in ideal cut territory with a GIA excellent cut stone.

table: 54-58

depth: 60-62.3

crown angle: 34-35.0 (up to 35.5 crown angle can sometimes work with a 40.6 pav angle)

pavilion angle: 40.6-40.9 (sometimes 41.0 if the crown angle is close to 34)

so I can learn as well.... how do you experts tell the difference between photography issues and light leakage? I would have thought this was leakage under the table.

Yeah, I agree. I would have thought that was too much leakage under the table too
