I just found this picture in a diamondtalk thread . . . couldn't believe my eyes as I've never seen any diamond cut this way. I have a 7mm white sapphire hexagon, but this is the first time I've ever seen a diamond, despite it being blue. I love it and am dying to know if there are others out there in a slightly more affordable size.

So, does someone cut colourless diamonds in this mannner?

Interesting! The cut reminds me of the "Marigold," which is one of the Flower Cuts, but that one is a step-cut octagon. I will keep searching, because I might have seen this somewhere else...

Here''s a pic of the marigold cut from www.interlap.com:

Well, I can''t find anything else. Hexagon, yes. Step-cut, yes. But both? This site has the most complete listing (with pictures) of fancy cuts that I have found, and they didn''t have one, but maybe someone else has some ideas...

BTW, here''s a picture of the firerose (hexagon) and another of the marigold...

i don''t know anything else about hexagon diamonds, but i just wanted to say that one you posted is stunning Lauren! i really love the step cuts- and that is just unique and toooo cool. does that ring belong to someone on diamondtalk?!?!

fatafelice - thank you so much for posting those pics! I''ve been googling all day for this cut and haven''t been able to locate it.

icekid - this ring was posted in a fancy colour thread over on DT. I just registered over there and thought I''d message the person who posted and find out where they found the pic. This particular stone is a 3.36 ct blue diamond. I''ll let you know if I get a response from the poster.

Does anybody else have any idea where I can find one of these hex-step cut diamonds?
