My mother recently gave me an old ring setting that has been in the family over 100 years. It originally had a ~1.5 ct. diamond in it, but my grandmother lost that stone about 50 years ago. Here''s the setting:

And here it is from the top:

Because the piece is very special to me, I didn''t want to let just anyone work on it. I had heard so many good things about Quest here, so I thought I''d give them a try. Luckily, they''re local to me, so I could take it in and talk with Pete about it. He''s great!

AND, here''s the ring set with a 1.45 purple spinel (from Daniel Stair):

This picture is blurry, but it caputures the beautiful, rich, saturated purple:

Here''s one that shows some of the beautiful detail:

And as a bonus, here''s my engagement ring (.52 H VS2 princess in a Bez Ambar Quadrillion setting):

Lucky dog! Pete did some restorative work on my OMC heirloom ring, and did such a good job. Isn''t he a sweetie?!

Thanks! I love the ornate look, too.

One thing I really love about Quest''s work is how well they matched the gold. It''s slightly redder than modern yellow gold, but not as red as rose gold. They did a fabulous job - you can''t tell at all that it was repaired.

Wow, Clio-that''s a beautiful setting and stone. Your e-ring is gorgeous, too. I want to visit Quest!
