So annoyed... work vent.

So I work for a government contractor. Every predetermined amount of time the contract is up for bid. This time our company did not win the contract, so the company is dissolving. I decided to go with the new company even though its a hellish long commute and a ton of tolls. But you know, we just bought a house.

Well today I find out, that two days after I moved to the new company. The old company was extended a few more months and given a 2 month bonus for staying. Urg. So yeah, I took the safer route, but at a pay decrease, down a rung on job title, MUCH more stress, and this commute when I could have stayed on longer and gotten so much more....

Just complaining I guess.... but hindsite is 20/20.

That stinks. We're going through something similar right now at our home and it's really stressful. But you did what you had to do to protect yourself. Job security is a rollercoaster these days...

Thanks. Right now not too happy about it. But at least its a job right? I really shouldn't be complaining just feels like such a step back.

I know that must be nerve racking. Its like a "Doh" moment, but you cant undo it so try not to beat yourself up too much about it. Put it out of your mind as much as you can. I drive an hour to work everyday so I know how unpleasant a longer commute can be, but thinking about the previous job is just going to make you miserable.

Just so you know, I would have done the same thing.
