I''ve been looking at a particular princess at a local shop. I took my ideal light and scope and looked at it, and the results were surprisingly good. Here are the specs (that i can remember)

1.35 ct
F
VS1
6.01 x 5.99 x ???
Depth: 71%
Table: 69%
$10,800

As I stated, everything on the idealscope image looks great (very slight leakage in a few places, good scintillation spaced evenly throughout). The only thing that concerned me was a slight window straight down the center. It was not a significant one, maybe .2mm x .2mm, but definitely there. I could see it w/o any magnification if I had the ideal light behind the stone.

Is this something to be concerned about?

Also, they would not BUDGE on the price. I offered $9500 plus buy the ring from them, and he said he would check with the owner but not to get my hopes up. Any advice on this? I could probably get a similar stone online for ~$8500, and I''m not too anxious to pay them an extra $2,000.

Any advice?

culetsdon''t scare *me* but many wouldn''t take that stone... however if you think you can saave $2000 online and possibly get a etter stone, why aren''t you doing that?????

If you check this page with movies out http://ideal-scope.com/using_reference_chart_ASET.asp you will see the Very Good stone has this center window - but it does not show up because the slightest tilt and either side returns light.

Because we have 2 eyes - we will always see some potential for sparkle from this zone.

AGS often give their top ''0'' grades to diamonds with thisa leakage spot.
