I think it would look pretty - but it could get spendy.. the smallest I''ve seen for purchase online were fairly big, but I have a tiny oval... I think it is 2x3mm and it might be too big for a 1 carat but would look really cool around like a 3 carat. You might be better off doing the antique illusion thing where the metal is shaped like an oval or a marquise (or other various shapes you can find like leaves, squares, scrolls, etc) and then tiny round melee are set in place so that it sparkles and looks oval but really it''s two tiny rounds surrounded by a tiny rim of metal that is oval shaped and connected around the halo with other little oval shaped metal ''things'' with round melee. easier and cheaper too!Date: 10/26/2006 8:28:44 PM

Are you saying you want to do the halo in tiny ovals as opposed to rounds? I doubt they make much oval melee and I think the rounds would look better anyway. Or are you talking about making a 3 stone ring with the smaller ovals and halo-ing the whole thing??
