Small grossular garnet pics

I was jonsing for a new gem, so I bought a small little grossular garnet. Nothing to write home about, but it's a pretty little thing, not too badly cut for something in the "native" style. A very light, icy, fresh color that lets the garnet's sparkle come through in leaps and blinding bounds!

It's 7x5mm, .88ct

I was thinking of setting it like Cehrabra's side set bezel aqua cab. Thoughts?

Sweet one! I like that pale color, like the cleanest shallow pool of water. I love all bezel sets, and a sideways treatment would be tres moderne.

Love it! I like your line of thinking RE setting it sideways. I'd say either yellow or rose gold.

You guys and your pears, you're killing me! I'm going to have to buy a cheapie stone and set it sideways in a cheapie setting just because I'm dying for the look (impatient but low on funds)!

Haha, I'm glad you guys understand my impatience to get a pear! And I'm glad you like my new little stone, he's a humble little fellow, and appreciates the warm words! I'm hoping to coax him out a bit more by putting him in the right home where he can shine best!

I really like the bypass idea, I may have to practice a little more self control and try to find another pear to go with it. What color might be best? Pale blue? Yellow? White?

ETA: If anyone has pics of a bypass with pears, I'd love to see! Also, if anyone has leads on good pear candidates, let me know!

My first thought was a pale aqua blue, but then I thought that might be too similar to the green. A light lavender or delicate pink may be nice. The trick is getting one light enough so it won't overshadow this one.

How about a pale yellow with it? Or a baby blue, or a clear/white stone would look nice and allow the green to show more. It's a cute stone. I actually like the yellow gold with it...rose sounds nice too.

You can really see the color in the tip of the stone in your first pic. Very nice!
