I'm almost through with the first story. I love it. I love his short story compliations. Anyone else reading it?

athena - I really want to read his stuff, just have a huge list right now. I'm glad to hear you like it. I'm adding it to said list.

I've not, but I love him so will be soon hopefully.

I'm starting the 4th story. Thanks for posting about it. I wasn't sure I was in the mood for him but so far the stories are awesome.

I just finished the book and I loved all four stories! I'm a HUGE fan of SK, especially his short stories. I really think this is the best short story compilation that he's ever done. I especially liked the first story (which is also the longest of the four). I thought it was unbelievably well-written. I really felt like I was THERE . . . I could see the cornfields and everything! :errrr:

Me too!! The last one was best reviewed, but I really thought the first one snagged me from the get go. I didn't like the Big Trucker one. I felt like it was sort of forced.

Mom brought this in for me today so soon as I'm done w/the book I'm reading right now I'll start it! JD was kinda *meh* about there being a new book out b/c he's not liked the last ones that he read..tho I'm quite sure the last he read was 10 years ago. He wouldn't even read the latest ones, even tho I liked them.

Athena, I have to say, I found "Big Trucker" hard to read. I can't say I didn't like the story . . . I just found it hard to read. It was just very graphic and real to me.

I was impressed with the main character though! I kept thinking "You GO, girl!!!" :D

As far as the last one is concerned: I thought that was a very interesting perspective. Normally, when a serial killer appears in the news and his wife claims to have had no idea, there's a lot of "yeah, right" going on. But maybe she really DIDN'T know? I can't even imagine what that must be like, to just have your whole world turned upside down like that. My heart really hurt for her! ;(

Finally started this last night. About half way thru the first story and am really enjoying myself!

Finished just now and I give it a big ole thumbs up! Really enjoyed all the stories. :appl:

I haven't read a Stephen King book in many, many years...and I'm not sure why. I used to enjoy them. Maybe something turned me off long ago and now I've forgotten what! Would you recommend I read these stories or was there a great book written sometime in the past 20 years that is better than this compilation of stories?

Hmm..I dunno, I got a charge out of this one. I really enjoyed Cell, Under the Dome and Duma Key. The Gunslinger books are incredible, but there are 7 books so I'm not sure if you'd want to jump right into something like that.
