Hello PS lovelies! :wavey:

My birthday is coming up, and DH is just dyyyyyying to buy me a single diamond stud for the piercing in my upper ear cartilage... or perhaps I just really want one, I can't remember :Up_to_something:

I have a few pairs of white diamond studs and thought for a change I'd hunt down a yellow diamond in a yellow gold setting. Does anyone have yellow diamond studs, or know where I could source an individual one? I've looked at DBL's website and there's a few to choose from... but anyone have any other suggestions? And of course, pictures are always appreciated.

Thanks heaps!!

I'd call Yekutiel at I.D. He can get anything, and probably for a better price than most of our vendors because he's right on 47th St. You should get an even sharper price on a single stone because there are no worries about searching for a match for earrings or side stones. On 47th St. you could get a single small yellow for very little.

I've worked with both DBL and fancydiamonds.net for colored stones and have nothing but totally great things to say about them. Either can set the stones for you, though I have had a local jeweler set my stones from fancydiamonds.net - just cuz it was easier.

gemgirl, I can't believe I didn't think of that! I've got a pair of diamond studs in the works wih ID as we speak, too! GAH. I've sent them an email to see if they can come up with something. Great idea!!

Thanks HEAPS for sharing your experiences brellymom! I've never heard of fancydiamonds.com, they have some delicious eyecandy, yummo! :lickout: That's a fantastic idea, buying a loose stone and having it set here!
Thanks for the suggestions girlies! :wavey: :wavey:

I bought these FCDs from www.fancydiamonds.net aka Leibish & Co.
All are natural mined diamonds with color of natural origin per GIA reports.

I have also exchanged some and gotten refunds.
Leibish has always been very very professional and courteous, so I strongly recommend them.

Thanks for the tip, kenny! I'm perusing their website as we speak! And please please pleeeeeease, take any and every opportunity to post those DELICIOUS FCDs of yours. WOW    Your pics are incredible!!

That yellow heart would look smashing perched at the top of my ear

I've also purchased from DBL and have nothing but good to stay about David and the company. I knew what I wanted, but what I wanted wasn't stocked on the website so I e-mailed him. In no time at all I had more than I had hoped for on my hand.

Personally I would stick with a jeweler who *knows* fancy colored diamonds, but that's just me. I tried asking jewelers about light yellows who mostly dealt with colorless diamonds and it really didn't work well. They truly don't seem to have the resources to find a right stone. JMO on that :)

Tiny thread-jack (apologies Andi) to say- kenny, your colored diamonds and your photographic skills are second to none! I love every single one of them. Sigh.....

Thanks all.
I confess to being a shameless attention-whore with my FCDs and my macro work.
It's a labor of love.

Andi, good luck with your project. :wavey:

Be sure to post pics.
I love spreading the word about FCDs; they're so cool and most people don't even consider them.

clgwli, I assume you're talking about that incredibly stunning piece of sunshine in your avatar? I might email DBL too. Thanks for sharing, lovely! :wavey:

gemgirl, no worries! Those pics are phenomenal, aren't they?!

I definitely will, kenny, and thankyou! I've wanted a FCD in pink or yellow for the longest time!

Yes it is! And thank you. I absolutely love my ring. I would definitely email David at DBL too. You never know what is out there. I'm so glad I did because I couldn't be happier!

Pretty diamond.

WOW.

Gosh I'd love to own something like that!!! The shade of yellow is PERFECT :lickout: :lickout: :lickout:

Thanks Kenny! I admit I still love her and love all the comments I get. Mostly because like you said most people aren't used to FCD out there and I find that particularly in person, people are shocked when they see them.

DandiAndi, you made me blush thank you again! I love love *love* this shade of yellow. My stone is a Y-Z color (graded by GIA) and I think stones in the W-X to Fancy Light Yellow are a great shade. Plus the lower range like Y-Z is actually really reasonably priced in general. Picking that range allowed me to get a much larger stone for my money than I would have if I stayed in the actual "Fancy" color range. I have had jewelers confuse it for a deeper shade too. Tiffany workers have done it more than once and that so tickles me knowing they are now into selling Fancy Yellows.

So like Kenny I love to shout out about mine and really enjoy chatting about colored diamonds to anyone who wants to listen. I have so many wishes I would love to have, but we need my husband to get a raise before I can get them all
