Simon G setting

I just bought a beautiful 2 carat cushion cut diamond. I like the Simon G setting LP1935. The jeweler tells me that when you go up to 2 carats they go to the wider setting so that the ring looks proportional. The wider setting is tr152. It looks exactly the same but is wider. I have small hands and short fingers. I think the slim setting looks better on my hand. Do you think it will look funny/disproportionate if I get the thin bands with a big rock? Does anyone have these settings?

When I looked at both rings I really could not see a different (at least on line). That being said there are LOTS of LARGER stone set on thin delicate bands (2 mm). So I say go with the one you like and don't let the jeweler push you in to something you don't REALLY LOVE.
