My husband and I stopped at a local jewelers last week and I fell in love with the Simon G settings, the halo setting in particular. I was told that the 18kt white gold setting was $4,700.00. I thought that was a bit high for this particular setting so I did my own on-line search and found the exact same setting in 18kt wg for considerably less ($1,320) at Robbins Bros. This was the only on-line site that posted prices. Other on-line vendors said to "call for pricing".

I expected the jeweler to be higher in price, but 356 % over what I found on-line? Is that ridiculous or are these price differences to be expected and how do I know I am getting the best price and service?
