Okay - so I've been planning our 25 wedding anniversary since we got married. I even ordered extra small napkins so that I could have them for the cake and have been lugging them around for 20 years. Is it too early to start really planning it? Rhetorical! haha - seriously though, how far in advance do you think I should plan it? It's on a sunday and I want to have like brunch or something, maybe lunch - an outdoor daytime thing. I already have two people I know who share the same annivesary - one got married 9 years after us and one 2 years after us. Neither will be having a "big" one on that day so I should be okay... I think?

My jetlag is unresolved and I'm looking at wedding cakes and thinking way too far in advance - humor me lol

So you are less than 5 year out? Did I understand that right?

Plan away, but think carefully before you buy or you might change your mind and buy twice.

Most importantly, what jewellery have you chosen :naughty: ?

Well okay so it's 5.5 years out lol I know that's pretty far lol As for bling, I kinda wanted to do that for the 20th this coming one - because it's much sooner!!! lol I want to reset my diamond for one thing, but I also want a custom eternity band... something *different*. I don't want just a circle of diamonds - they're beautiful and elegant but I'm a bit more funky than that lol

I've been looking at cakes - they have come SO FAR in the last 20 years!! Gorgeous and beautiful and I want to eat one right now so bad. The cakes here in China are super weird and a lot have fruit on them and tomatoes are fruit so yeppers - tomatoes on fancy cakes!

I skimmed the post and read it as "how far in advance do you think I should plan it? It's on Sunday and I want to have like brunch or something". I was like it's on Sunday?? Well you'd want to have planned it by now! Haha.

I say plan away, but be careful you don't drive yourself nuts!

Tomato on cake...well I never knock food until I've tried it, but I can't imagine enjoying tomato-cake...

hahaha!! No worries, it's just tomato right there with the kiwi and strawberries... they serve fruit salad with tomatoes in it. It's bizarre.

Well congratulations! 20 years is amazing!
Just take you time planning your 25th! Ensure you plan for you and your partner, love what your going to celebrate, who you will celebrate with and love the memories that it will produce GOOD OR BAD! They are what will make it unique! and ofcourse special!!!!!!!

Then when that one comes you can look foward to 30th!

HAVE FUN! :appl:

I'm at 21 years very very shortly. The only thing DH and I are planning for our 25th is a trip to Tahiti - alone!

there will definitely be something akin to aquamarine waters ;D

We got married so young, at the justice of the peace, no honeymoon... we had a renewal on our 2nd to have a bigger wedding for extended family but my mom dropped the ball and we were in new york and it was in san francisco. It was okay, but I've always planned to do MY (I would say "our" but who am I kidding - my husband could care less about the details lol) own thing for the 25th.

But yeah, a 2nd (okay first) honeymoon would be fantastic too... :D

You should definitely do whatever you and DH want to celebrate your 25th. I had a huge wedding a honeymooned in Hawaii. I don't want a big gala for my 25th. My sister did and she later said it would have been better if she and BIL just went away and celebrated alone. (I think my mom had pressured her into a big 25th event). Happy planning!!

Our 25th is next September, no clue what we will do. I am having health issues so am not planning ahead. But would hope for a trip of some sort??

Planning is such fun and sounds like you are great at it. :))

((((Kaleigh)))) I hope you are feeling better soon - all the more reason to celebrate when the time comes :)
