I currently have a .78 oval diamond SI1 D color and was hoping to upgrade a bit. I was having trouble with my budget and the online jeweler where I purchased my original stone to find a good upgrade. I will receive credit of what I originally paid for my oval towards the new stone. Unfortunately, they do not show photos. They will inspect the diamonds. I am considering going down to SI2, eye clean of course in order to find one in my price range and size. I am already out $40 for having to ship back an oval that had too much bowtie. They found me a SI2 E color .91 oval, 7.81 x 5.60. My current stone is 7.54 x 5.01 so that would be a bit larger, however I would have to drop a color and clarity grade. They say it is eye clean and minimum to no bowtie. I attached the GIA report for the SI2 and a photo of my ring. Thoughts? Is SI2 too risky? Should I wait?

The clarity grade is based on twinning wisps. It could* have issues with looking clear (like it could be cloudy). If you are going to look for SI2 you
probably wan to look for an obvious inclusion like a feather or knot that is on the bottom so it cant be seen. I hate that you have to shop this way
(costing you $4o every time). Can you find a stone on a site like JA (where there are nice pictures) then let your jeweler know the GIA number and
see if they can get it?

On the stone you posted, see if they can guarantee you that it is not foggy or cloudy.

I did just look at some SI2 stones and I did find one were the twinning wisp were in the area of the stone that were difficult to see. Sort of in
the area where the stone does not return light well...
