Dear all,

Glad to join this forum and hope you could help or give me some advice.

I have recently bought this rock online, link and photo below:

https://www.jamesallen.com/loose-di...f-color-si2-clarity-excellent-cut-sku-2265826

I'm now waiting for it to be shipped, however when I took a second look on the GIA report, it say clarity is based on clouds that are not shown. Now I'm worried that the diamond will look cloudy. There will 360 photo of the diamond, I know it could be difficult to tell but really appreciate your expertise in reviewing and comment whether this will be a sparkle / cloudy diamond.

Also do you think any inclusions is likely to be seen by naked eyes? Many many thanks!!

I don't think it looks cloudy- I'd get it home and view it in lots of different lighting. Then you'll know for sure.

I would not recommend going through with this stone...it's an SI2 stone based on clouds, which almost guarantees it will have transparency issues. Even if you don't notice the haze when you receive it, you certainly would next to a diamond that does not have a clarity grade based on clouds. There are so many round diamonds out there and I wouldn't settle for this one. What's your budget?

Thanks!!! I probably have to hold up the order (if possible). I am looking at around 6-7k.

This would be my first choice but it's a touch smaller:

There's also this one that's an SI2 with a bunch going on...but JA True Hearts are vetted to be eye clean so it could also be a good option:

And this one that is a touch over $7k (you could try asking for a PS discount): https://www.jamesallen.com/loose-di...g-color-si1-clarity-excellent-cut-sku-2629742

Wow you are sooooo helpful!!!!! Will take a closer look now. Many thanks!!!

Hey ac117...I didnt know that True Hearts were vetted for eye-clean. Can you give me a link to
where its at so I can read up on it? Learn something new everyday!

Hi tyty! I've chatted with 2 different JA reps who have told me that they only include eye clean stones in their TH line. Granted, their stated definition of eye-clean is 6-12 inches with the naked eye in daylight or fluorescent lighting.

I've never looked on their website to confirm or disprove what they've told me, but I just took a look and what they do explicitly state is not as specific: "Every diamond in our TrueHeartsTM collection is an ideal cut diamond, with superb color, dazzling clarity, incomparable symmetry and exquisite shape." https://www.jamesallen.com/education/diamonds/ideal-cut-truehearts/

I read that too ac117 and wondered why they didnt put it there. That is interesting that they did
say it to you on two different occasions. Of course with 6-12 inches not being all that close, if the
stone were for me, I'd be doing a double check...but I'm paranoid like that!:lol:

Oh absolutely! I would encourage OP to have a JA gemologist inspect all 3 or any stone he's interested in and ask JA just how eye clean they are. For that second stone, the inclusions are all light so when I zoomed out they also don't seem that noticeable but everyone's tolerance is different.

I'd definitely go down to G color and get higher clarity than SI2. I'd be a little hesitant about the inclusions in the G SI1 above, though.
