I'm beyond excited!

I decided to upgrade my e-ring with a beautiful Y-Z diamond ring from Diamonds by Lauren. It's being sized at the moment, so I need some eye candy in the meantime.

Show me your yellow diamonds! I haven't seen a Y-Z/fancy thread for a while, and I'd love to see everyone's!

@Catmom -- I LOVE the baguette side stones on yours! I'm considering a new wedding band to match the new ring (of course... ), and I'm looking at a round/baguette eternity band.

@D&T -- I actually gasped when I saw yours! I have never seen a yellow with a gold crown (is that a crown/cap? I don't know the lingo...haha).

@cflutist -- I love the color of your diamond and the setting is perfect.


I can't wait for mine to arrive so that I can take my own photos. I only have the DBL website photos and some hand shots that David emailed me during the buying process. I do keep staring at all of the photos (and the online listing) though...and just falling more in love. The suspense is a killer!

One of the great things about design-it-yourself jewelry, as you've probably discovered, is that you cut out a lot of the retail and designer mark-up and get a lot more diamond for your dollar. We bought something from one of the big names on Fifth Ave and found ourselves on their mailing list with tons of glossy magazines, catalogues, event invitations, a book describing their history... all of which gets expensive. Well, we paid for that through the mark-up on the jewelry, which probably was sold at 20X the materials cost. So I decided there had to be a better way.

The pendant stones I used were sourced one-by-one from manufacturers directly (I sometimes had to ask to get them to sell to me) or from companies with offices in the diamond exchanges in Antwerpen and Israel, so as to cut out as many "hands" as I could. One of them put it all together too. So I think I got a much much better deal than had I bought something already assembled in a store - and I bet your ring upgrade is the same.

I've got a couple to show off. First, a 1.61ct FLY split shank ring. Next, a 2.18ct W-X pendant that I later had reset into the third ring shown. Then, a 1.70ct FLBY that I had custom made and later sold. All of the stones and rings were sold by/made by DBL. I've another that I'll post next.

I also love that many of these came from DBL, which assures me that I made the right decision. I am getting really anxious for mine to arrive now! Still no official ship/arrival date--the holiday has thrown off DBL's time frame.
