Show me your princesses. I need a reset!

I posted a thread in Rocky Talk. I have never truly loved my ring I don't think. It's a simple cathedral setting. .72 carat WF ACA Princess. I'm searching for a wedding band and figured now would be a good time to reset. I tried some setting on at a local store and discovered that my setting makes my stone look small. I tried on a setting with channel set princesses on the side with the same size center stone and the stone looked much bigger. I expected the sidestones to make the stone look smaller. ?? I'm so confused and overwhelmed. I keep going back to BGD Truth Solitaire. Both plain and with the princess side stones. I'm not sure how much I like the taper towards the stone though. There also isn't a matching band to the one with side stones. So I'm reaching out to all the princess girls. Can you post pics of your sets (or just erings) and also please state the stone size. I need to see lots of pics!

Hi Hoofbeats! How square is your princess?
This was my promise ring--a little tiny 1/3 ct. princess stone (and not really that well cut either...but hey, we were younguns). About 4mm per side. It was very square so we had it kite-set in a prong setting and it made it look larger.

My stone is perfectly square actually. Do you think that kite-set makes it look bigger? I've only seen one kite set in person. And the stone was bigger than mine to begin with.

Hi... here is a picture of my ering and wedding band, all princesses! My ering is a 1.29 center with a 1.48 setting for a total of 2.77.

My wedding band is about 3.5 carats of diamonds and sapphires.

If you're trying to go for size why not do a halo. They make a HUGE difference in size. My pear in a halo looks much bigger than it did before the halo. Especially if you halo your princess and go for a thin shank.

Ally - thanks. Your stone pops. Where did you get the setting? Do you have a profile shot? Is the difference in diameter of your center stone and the shank very much?

I don't dig halos on princess cuts. The idea is valid, but I just can't do it.

I have a .70 princess in a cathedral too, so this photo may not help you much, but it's another perspective. Ring size is 5.75.

I may be changing it to a round brilliant on a very thin solitaire band.

Hi Hoofbeats... here is a profile pic of my ring. It sits a bit higher than my original ering, but I don't mind. I thought I might catch it on stuff, but so far, it hasn't been a problem at all.

My rings are from a local jeweler in NJ where I live. He designed my current ering setting.

I had a plain setting before, I'll find a pic of that as well.

I didn't state earlier, just for perspective-wise, my size is 5.5
