Hehe I actually considered that strand too but am still holding out for a deep gold keshi strand. We will see how long that will power lasts

I selfishly support your decision, MTG. :) Pattye looked at the strand and thinks it may be too deep to knot in gold thread. she is going to send samples out to match with the pearls, but I may have to use bronze or oak. What size thread do you use to string .8 holes?

Haha might be worth seeing the Golden’s in person. I find the photos can be tough to interpret. On average my experience is they look lighter in person in most lighting situations since they tend to photograph them at their deepest color context.

If the bust display form and the tag are supposed to be white, then the color of the pearls in the photo is probably a bit off also. I'm guessing the Gold thread will work.

Do you find the magnet feels safe and secure? Your Moline pearls - they are just so beautiful! Have you decided on your clasp yet?
Yes, the magnet is very strong. It takes a good effort to pry it apart which I like!

For the Moline pearls, I'm waiting for some clasps to arrive. I was going to go with a gold orbit clasp but then decided to perhaps go another direction.

A prolific stringer on another pearl forum uses clasps that are sparklie and have similar orbit-style closures, which is what I waiting on. Will see if I like them or prefer the simple orbit.

When Cees sent me photos of the circle strand I bought, I thought it might be lighter as it looked pretty deep. Turns out it was absolutely the same color as the photos, and a deep golden color. Yay! It's the same color as the Moline studs, which are the sisters to yours, @MMtwo —hopefully, your strand will be the same color as mine!

I know you asked MakingTheGrade, however I'll throw in my two cents' for stringing. I use #30 (medium weight) from Pattye for .8mm holes. If the holes are large, then I'll add in another strand to make it three, or "double" knot.

Did you see the GSS Keshi on Takahashi’s Instagram?

We need neck shots! Oh they must be gorgeous!

@pearlsngems I really love your GSS strand, and they look wonderful on you. Hopefully I will see the pearls soon and will have the fun of checking them out in different types of lighting.

@Daisys and Diamonds thank you so much!

@SparklieBug good to know on the magnets. I may buy and string some for my Mom who needs easy on and off. Heh, I'm not getting any younger, either. In the best case scenario, the Cees strand will be the color of yours that work well with the sister studs. The strand I bought reminded me of your baroque strand, which I adore.

Thanks for the size input. I'll probably go to the "other place" when it's time to knot. I'm a little rusty and may have questions.

@Mukti Indirect light by the sunny window.

Below, indirect light away from the window.

Oh gosh! They're beautiful and suit your complexion!
I'd like to include heart-eyed smiley but my phone doesn't allow me.

I don't know how people take good selfies, mine always turn out so blurry. I shortened the length and used Pattye's "Sun" thread. The other pendant is a brooch conversion, 18k and oecs.

The light is going away and this is an east facing window, so color isn't accurate, but you can see how well the thread matches. I would say the neck shot is most accurate in color.

You look beautiful. The color is wonderful for the strand. This is the softest, prettiest buttery gold color. Great for spring.

Thanks!! I called it lemony in the other thread but realized my lemons are a hybrid with some orange so it's golden looking

I always manage to look like I have a double chin when taking pearl selfies :wall:

That strand looks great on you. The overtones look consistent. Are they a lighter colour in the rings or is it just the photo?

15inches?

exactly 15 inches. They are lighter in the grooves of rings but the overtones are the same among the pearls, or maybe they don't have any overtones? They get consistently deeper with indoor lighting. I bought this strand to test out the color on my skintone, and it might be my favorite piece to wear now, despite being the most inexpensive. Baroques/circles have such personality.

Good morning ladies. I was playing with my thread order from Pattye. I don't have Cee's strand yet, so I played with Andrew Moline's earrings and the OceanRhyme pendant. I LOVE the amber thread with the dark gold south sea pearls. The blush gimp was great too.

Now I get to play matchy with the strand when it arrives.

@MMtwo Love that Amber!! Can I ask where you bought it? I don’t see an Amber option on her Etsy page :)) I see the card says “sample” though.

It's brand new. If you message her on Etsy and I am sure she'd be happy to send you some. I just love that rich color too. *edit, she mentioned looking at a few more color additions to cover the deeper golds.

I sent her a note!! ❤️ I have the Gold, but it’s a bit lighter and more yellow than I’d love - I want a deeper more red/orange thread.

I bought Bronze in a couple of weights but looking at your pics - yeah, that’s not going to work. That’s fine though, I need random thread to keep loosies together and test thickness and whatnot!

The tan and bronze are definite misses for the GSS. However, they look GREAT with the multi-Tahitians for a little spice up. Ugh, this was one of my first knotting jobs. She is awesome and I love buying from her.

This is Tan (lighter reddish) and Bronze
