Please? :naughty:

I've taken a recent liking to the pieces. These aren't really impressive, but this is all we have anymore. My mom sold everything years ago. I used to have a zodiac rabbit pendant that was intricately carved with details, even fur! Too bad I never had a photo. I love the bangle.

SO's mother has a bunch of Indian jewelry, all 22k+ YG, but I have no photos.
I would love to see everyone else's.

Dang, Rosetta! I love your collection!!! I love that bangle in the photo, too, but it's not mine, it's my grandmother's.
I *doubt* you're the only one on PS with ethnic jewelry? That's so weird. Hopefully I get some to add in the next few years :naughty: or at least borrow FMIL's to post :praise:

Oh Rosetta I could look at that thread all day long. Phenomenal. And Madelise your pieces are to die for too!

Do either of you know of reputable online vendors of traditional high karat gold pieces? I would love to see more and maybe even dabble in a very simple tiny starter piece.

Gorgeous pieces! I posted lots of heirloom (24K and 22k) pieces in the high kt gold thread. My children have their own zodiac animal pendants but I did not photograph those. I have earrings, tons of bracelets, necklaces, pendants, an anklet, and rings. I did not photograph the gold coins, gold wafers nor brooches.

No, I don't know any online vendors, sorry :blackeye: Are you around any little Indias, or Chinatowns? In SoCA, we have Artesia for little India, and Los Angeles and Monterey Park/San Gabriel for Chinatowns. I've seen many high karat gold jewelers. From a conversation with one of our PS jewelers, apparently high karat yellow gold is rare, and is usually only found in ethnic areas.

This is my everyday necklace and pendant. I changed out the usual Double U clasp into a lobster claw, so the chain is 24K but the claw is 916 for 22K for durability. The pendant is 24K. The previous one is rectangular with a dragon on one side and a flying phoenix on the other but the bale was too thin and kept bending. Although I really loved it, I was worried it will break one day and exchanged it for this one a few years later.

On a black background to better see the design.

The word on the back is "Fuu" meaning "good luck". I'm not superstitious or believe in luck but it was the only pendant in the store that looks strong enough yet is decent looking. :cheeky:

HKYG is my jam, thanks for linking to this enormous thread! ~FAVOURITES~ I've never come across anyone as obsessed as I am!

Madelise, it is all so pretty! I'm particularly fond of the squares! I have some YG jewellery from India, but I suspect that it is dipped.

Chrono, I LOVE your necklace. My clasp bent too and I couldn't wear it for a year or so. I live in a small town and finding a jeweler has been difficult. So I just kept it in my purse. Luckily, I came across a little family jeweler, who was kind enough to fix it on the spot. I'm so glad I can finally enjoy it again.

Charmed One,
I think your necklace and pendant are very unique and pretty. The chain design is certainly uncommon.

Pandabee,
I'm sorry I did not take any pictures of it back then.

I found my baby ring! It is soooo tiny. Mom had only a few nice pieces of jewelry in her box that I was digging through..she has a lot of inexpensive jade pieces and pearls. Lots of costume jewelry. But I found this and a few other small trinkets!

I'm not that close with my Dad (we go to lunch every couple of months) so was really surprised that he picked this out for me on one of his business trips to India a few years ago. It means even more to me because this is very unlike him, and the fact that he thought of me and purchased it as a "just because" gift. It's much prettier IRL than the pictures presented. I took a picture of the clasp too, which is much safer than I would have thought.

22K necklace and pendant.

It's beautiful, TLB! I realized that most high kt yg clasps are made just like that. They're a PITA if you're opening/closing them often, but yes, they're very secure! Be careful, though, I've ruined some clasps because I used too much force on the extremely pliable material. Oops!

I found a pic of some of my yellow gold bangles.

I think these are all 22k gold (six in total)

Hello everyone! This is my first post in Pricescope and it's not a surprise as I enjoy wearing gold jewelry. :) Here in Turkey people really love 22k yellow gold, especially older people. Guests at weddings bring the new couple 22k gold bangles or gold coins as they are some form of cash and newlyweds always need money to pay off their wedding related debts. Nowadays young women don't wear gold as much as the old days. Some of them even say that it's tacky to wear yellow gold. I don't agree with them. I wear gold every single day.

The first picture below shows my everyday bangles. They are traditional "burma" bangles. The other one is my favorite yellow gold piece. It's my hometown's signature jewelry piece, "Trabzon Hasırı" and they also come in sets. Mine was an anniversary present from my husband. It's made with gold thread by hand and that's what makes it more special.
