show me profile of your James Allen solitair /- wedding band

I really, really want to get my diamond from JA but cant decide on a setting. I feel as though their website doesn’t do the settings justice b/c I’ve seen beautiful pics of JA ERs but some seem to be discontinued.

1. I want a simple 14K white gold round brilliant solitaire, 1.3-1.49 carats ; I plan to get a diamond wedding band (not an anniverwary band) to sit flush with ER.

3. I’m a ring size 6 and over 40.

4. I am drawn to cathedral settings, but not extremely high.

5. Wondering about the Knife Edge Cathedral Engagement Ring SKU: 17612W14 b/c normally I’m not drawn to knife edge but maybe I would like this one?


I am concerned b/c some of the JA have a horizonal “band” around the diamond. I am wondering, although this might make the setting more sturdy, will it detract from the beauty of the diamond?

Most people who have their rings do not post on RT. You should look through Show Me the Bling.

But JA has videos of all their rings, the REAL rings, not the CADs, under the large CAD. And they rotate 360 degrees.

I'm not on my computer or phone where I have photos of my rings stored so I'm giving you links to my posts for the rings. I have 2 solitaires from James Allen. This is a link to the upgraded ring that I just got a month ago and there are several photos showing the profile view and next to my wedding band. It's the Tapered Six Prong in platinum (also comes in 14 k white gold.)

This is the link to the original upgrade I bought from them last December. It is the Modern Tulip setting in 14k white gold and there's a photo shown of it next to the wedding bands.

Both of those settings sit quite low - much lower than I was used to, but I like them both. On my most recent upgrade (tapered 6 prong) I wanted a basket that was more open and easier to clean and see the side of the diamond - more so than the tulip setting. Even though they sit low, the wedding band still fits next to the ring without a gap.

Both rings are beautiful. Your photos are prettier than the JA site photos.
Your prongs look so nice on the 6 prong tapered. (on the JA website, they look much thicker).

I am afraid I will not like round band around stone, though ( I think it is called a gallery?). My diamond is 1.35 carats so I am hoping that part of the setting won't be too thick & cover up the diamond. Now I'm regretting not getting the 6 prong you got- it doesn't obscure the diamond much at all. I may end up ordering that when all is said & done.
