My wonderful husband told me he wants to get me an upgrade for our fifth anniversary.

I am planning to get a 1.5 carat diamond solitaire, and I'm trying to decide on the setting. After looking extensively I think I'm going to get the setting custom made to combine the elements I love from all the rings I've looked at. I love the graceful swoop of the Tiffany setting and I definitely want six prongs, but the Tiffany is just too high for me. I love the Harry Winston solitaire for its height, but I don't love the four double prongs. And I just discovered the Vache Royal Crown setting, which I think can be set low and has graceful swoops.

Sooooo, ladies who have a Vache Royal Crown or similar six-prong trellis setting, please show me pics! I'd love to see what they look like on a hand.

Thanks!!!!

I have a Vatche Royal Crown, and my stone is a 1.15 ct. My RC was "modified" in the shank to be around 2.2mm wide so you have reference.

I don't have one but I just wanted to add that I find that particular Vatche setting one of the loveliest solitaire settings!! I love the 'swoops and twirls' at the bottom - that will be a beautiful 5th anniversary upgrade! Congratulation!

You can see mine in the first post here. It was made by Mark Morrell

Your ring is absolutely gorgeous! I love that it looks like it's set really low. Is that something you specifically requested?

I know I being neurotic about it, but I really want a setting that I can pretty much never take off. I wear my current one to sleep, shower, cook, do dishes, work out – pretty much everything but rock climbing. So I want to be able to do that with my new ring too. Do you find that yours is low and sturdy enough for that kind of lifestyle?

Have you seen the vatche swan? Not sure if it's a trellis, but I wanted the same thing as you: six prongs for sure, and a solitaire with a little something extra "swoopy" underneath. Mine is a 1.304ct on size 5 finger.
