Should the RHR match the e-ring/wedding set?

I'm trying to get ideas for a right hand ring and I was wondering what other people's choices on RHR's are like? Should the metal match the wedding set? What about the "style" eg, both art deco? What about the diamond shapes...for eg, if I have a e-ring stone that is a round diamond, would it be redundant to have another round as a RHR?

I like going for a different look with the RHR. What ever floats your boat... No hard and fast rules IMHO..

I already have a rb solitaire, and was thinking of using my current 1.12ct pendant and creating a RHR with it....just because I don't really like anything around my neck, so here is somthing that is not like a classic 6 prong solitaire that I was thinking for a RHR. It's very "antique" looking comapred to my classic set though...Also not sure if two rb both over 1ct look like they're competing....

that's gorgeous

That is a beautiful design! I agree with the other poster that whatever you want would be fine for a RHR. It all depends on your personality. It doesn't have to match your wedding set at all. You can be as different as you want! Also, I don't think that the new ring you posted would compete with your wedding set. If I remember your set correctly, I would think that either ring would be able to stand on their own on your separate hands. KWIM?

Ditto...RHRs for me (not that I have many) are for how I feel that day. I dont at all feel like they have to match my wr/er.

Edit - I dont think the stones will be competing if you put your RHR in that antique setting. If you put it in another 6 prong
setting like your ering then that might be a little odd in my book (but wouldnt really care).

I think you should wear what you want as a RHR.

"Should" is a word I wouldn't use in this context.... you "should" wear whatever you WANT to wear and enjoy wearing :)

It can be fun to have a totally coordinated set - I was just noticing in sex and the city 1 that Charlotte has well coordinated rings and wore them in a way that I loved - she had some sort of eternity or semi eternity on her left hand and a large emerald cut diamond on her right. I prefer this than wearing the band on the right and main ring on the left - but I digress. In your situation you just wear whatever you like and it will be perfect.

I saw this previously owned ring that is right up my alley too. Would this setting with my 1.12 rb look too e-ring like? I don't want to appear to be wearing an e-ring on each hand...I think that would look weird!

i think your RHR can be whatever you want!! I recently got a rose gold 7 stone for an RHR... My set is white gold pave and looks nothing like the RHR!

I love the second setting you posted. I think it is totally gorgeous! I dont think it looks at all like an ering so it wouldnt compete

It is all in what you like. For me personally I prefer to have something different. I current have a princess in a square shape setting for my ering and I am getting a three stone asscher made for a RHR. I also have a cushion cut alexandrite that I wear on my right hand. And I have been drooling over pink RBs. The next stone shape that I get will most certainly be round. I guess I want it all. Princess, step cut, cushion and round. Cant go wrong, right?
