Hello ladies,

My wife is Rainydaze, she just bought a new eli setting and has posted pictures. She now wants to buy a Leon Meget(I assume spelling is wrong) wedding band. The wedding band cannot be resized.

She is 11 weeks pregnant, due in June. She wants to buy it now, but I think that she needs to go through pregnancy and have her body return back to normal so she buys the correct size. She is a 6.25 now but she I think she could easily be a 6 or a 6.75 after giving birth.

So what should she do? Buy it now or wait?

thanks,
lonelyhusband

hello dear.

let's get some things straight.
2.gif
my ring size is a 6, so 6.25 leaves me some room. i returned to my original size after my first two pregnancies. and the eli is 6 3/8 and it's definitely too big.

also, the ring is part of his 'rings available now', hence the desire to go for it rather than wait. it is 1.5mm thin with milligrained edges so it seems it would be the perfect complement to my eli without being too much.

ETA: ahhhh! you used my computer to post! well, THIS post was by me, RD even though it says LH.

hi lonelyhusband and rainy

you all are too funny...

well, if it''s the leon band that he''s got for sale now, it''s being offered at a great price so it would be very tempting to go for it if you can afford it. Leon''s ring will retain a certain value so if the the chance her ring size did dramatically change after this 3rd pregnancy she could easily resell it though pearlmans for what you all paid. If it wasn''t a such a great deal I''d agree that it would be best to wait to be 100% sure the ring size stays the same, but since it is a sale item, in all likelyhood there won''t be another and i''m a sucker for a great deal, especially when it''s exactly what one wants

I would wait...sorry Rainy. Tessa is almost 6 weeks old and I still can''t fit into my wedding band. I am so freaked out I never will (maybe my knuckles got bigger?!?). Then again I gained 200 lbs (well, it feels like it!) and I am sure you won''t. But there is always that slight chance it will not fit someday. Would that bother you?

LOL!
Though my rings got "sticky" towards the end of each pregnancy, my ring size did not change after going through 2 pregancies. However, results may vary.

so I work in the basement of my house. Rainydaze reads Mrs Salvo post before Tacori posts, opens the door and yells down, "I am buying it, I am buying it"

ROFL! You two are TOO funny!

then she sends me this email....TOMORROW!!!!

"ok, so i''m going to pick up jeremy. if you care to surprise me at all, the ring is up on my computer. give them a call and make my day! :-)

just make sure it is full eternity and get color & clarity of stones, point size of stones, and total carat weight of ring. and see if they can send it for tomorrow. IF you get it for me. :-)"

. Actually I gained 50+ with my first two and lost it all +10 (so don''t you worry!! i meant to reply in the preg thread about this for you, the first time it took only six months for that to happen, the second a little longer, but it did happen. and it took some time for me to fit my rings back on as well, but they did with no problem eventually.) yes, it would bother me if i couldn''t wear it again but it would be incentive to lose the weight (moreso than clothes! ha!) but i''m already married so this would not be the sentimental ceremony wband.

LOL! You guys are too cute!

Rainy- I know which ring you are talking about it and it''s so yummy! I e-mailed Leon asking the price a while back b/c I was seriously contemplating it.

And you''re right, it would look fab with your new ring
2.gif

LHubby- what a great and humorous hubby you are! Most husbands (like mine) would not have the sense of humor that you have about it!

But I''m going to side with Rainy, only b/c she''s had two pregnancies and her fingers have been fine? Besides, can''t eternity bands be shaved down a weeee bit on the inside? I think Mara did that to her''s.

and I have to say, what a great push present/ preggo gift that ring would be!

Dear lonelyhusband,

As I understand it, she is having your 3rd child? Buy her whatever she wants. Or, you could become reallylonelyhusband.

Sincerely,

BizouMom

I don''t want to the a downer here but I''d wait. I have heard of women whose knuckles swelled and never returned to their original size. This is different for each woman and each pregnancy. I would not take the risk on an expensive LM piece. As for shaving the inside of the ring, what does LM have to say about that? I would not take his masterpiece to any jeweller for any work.

HI:

HALIR!!!!!!!!!!!!!

After delivery when her left hand resumes "prepregnancy" form, that ring could be worn on her right hand. Most right hands tend to be larger--so the ring will never go to "waste".....

cheers--Sharon

You guys are so funny! Thanks for the encouragement Rainy! Sorry that I am sided with your DH. I am not only worried about finger size but knuckle size. My WB is an e-band so unsizable. I will never buy an e-band again. Well not until I am done with the baby making business (so maybe 10 years) BUTTTT....I am in favor for a WONDERFUL push present/baby bauble. If you did not get one for your first two, Lonely, you better start saving now!
2.gif
Otherwise she might never let you out of the basement! (Rainy, do you like me again now?!?)

WOO HOO... NOW you''re talkin'' Tacori!!

if i do get it i promise i won''t let someone else touch it. i''d find some other way to deal, such as canuk-gal''s RHR suggestion.

canuk-gal - right on! that is what i was thinking too if worse came to worse. heck, it''s a LEON, i''d wear it around my neck if the darn thing never fit again!!!!

Tacori - hmmmm, interesting idea there with the basement. i think i''ll see about getting a lock for that door......

OK....this? FUNNIEST thing I've read all day......and on target, too!

Get the ring.

In fairness, Lonely, you should know that Tacori is speaking from her perspective as a new first-time mom who is a scant five weeks past delivery, so she's not had time to have her body fully 'go back to normal' to know if her rings will fit or not.

Your wife, however, has managed two other pregnancies to date, after which she's returned to her normal ring size both times. While it's still possible to have a different experience for her third, it's not probable.

If the ring were available at any time at that price, I could see the sense in waiting. But this is one of those 'get while the getting is good' opportunities, and I think your wife is right to seize it.

9.gif

ETA: and Yeah, it's a LEON. Wouldn't go to waste either way; I'm SURE she's find some way/finger/something to wear it on! LOL

Rainy,
Just to show that I''m on your side (just concerned about the fit of the ring), I whole heartedly approve of a present to commemorate the birth of baby #3.

LH,
My hubby spent over $1K on a high karat gold bracelet for me. I''d love to wear it everyday but unfortunately, I can''t due to my line of work. It''s the thought that counts too.

ROFLMAO with TEARS in my eyes.

You guys are a riot.

Lonelyhusband... getthering. I have to agree with BizouMom.

Al, is right. I have really no experience on finger change ONCE all the weight is lost. I just remember a thread on this and several women complained their knuckles got larger. It is SUCH a good price you probably could sell it (if for some reason it didn''t fit) and not lose any money.

hmmm, posting whether or not to buy a ring for my wife on a forum full of woman who love to buy rings was probably not a wise decision. I should have crossposted on
www.cheaphusbands.com

Oh well lesson learned...

Thanks for all the help today, you made my wife a happy woman!

Can you gals make sure she watches a movie with me tonight?

LH,
Absolutely. I''m sure Rainy will be in over the moon with the purchase of the band and will agree to pretty much anything for the rest of the day.
