Should I keep these OEC studs

I just purchased a pair of OEC studs off ebay and I'm torn whether to keep them. I guess it really comes down to value... if they are a mediocre value then I wont keep them but if I got a good deal I will. I don't own a pair of studs. They have a cute removable buttercup jacket.

They are a bit smaller than the seller described them... he said they were 5mm each and 1cttw. I just got back getting an appraisal on them and they are probably .9cttw and measure 4.7mm.

They are VS-1 and J-K color according to the jeweler.

One has a slightly larger table and the cut is slightly different if you are holding them together and 12 inches away! Fortunately earrings will not be looked at that closely!

And I paid about $800 for them after taxes.... if you were me, would you keep them?

I think at the price you paid they are an excellent value. As for not being identical... for earrings I would have no issue for that as I don't wear them next to each other.

You can ask the seller for an adjustment of a $100 on the different size and carat weight. You never know... you might get it.

When you have them on, can you tell the size difference? Just curious b/c I bought a pair of studs on eBay a long time ago - like 10+ years ago, and when I put them on, one sparkled more noticeably than the other and there was a visual difference in the color between the two stones. I know it was pretty obvious because even my husband could tell when I had them on! (I did wear them for a few years before buying a matching pair...the ebay pair made a nice starter set).

That said, the stones look pretty in the picture you posted!

For $800 I would keep them, they look nice and bright. I would do as Gypsy suggested though and try to get some money back as they were not what was represented.

Thank you all, you really helped with my indecisiveness! I do think the studs are beautiful... very bright and they really look great on the ears! I just wasn't sure if they were a fair price but it looks like they are! I will contact the seller tonight and see if he will lower the price at all. Doesn't hurt to ask!
