Should I buy this?

I fell in love again. It's platinum and the diamonds are single cut. The center stone is described as star sapphire and I don't know much about them. Opinions please.

Hopefully the gem nuts will give you some advice LOL. It's interesting looking though. It's hard to tell from the pic, but does it have the star shape in the middle that (I believe) star sapphires do? It looks like it might!

It does. But, I also don't know what to look for to distinguish whether it is natural or man-made.

Post on the Colored Stone forum. MANY of those vintage stars are fake.

Gypsy, do you think thAt the setting alone which is platinum and single cut diamonds is worth the 725 dollars in case the sapphire is fake? Does anyone else have any opinions on this?
