Should HCA be deciding a factor?

I found 2 diamonds that look almost identical, except one has HCA 2.7, other has 1.4. Also, the one with the higher HCA looks completely eye-clean, even at 18x magnification and is an SI1!.

If you look at the IS images there is no question one is better cut than the other.
The HCA reflects the IS images.
If both are eyeclean the better cut one is a no-brainer to get.

Well said. In this situation there are other deciding factors but the HCA certainly helps lead you there.
 
aha - but the ideal-scope was infulential in the proprotions used in HCA

it could just be the biln leading the blind
