I'm dead set on a fancy vivid yellow halo style ring for my gf-fiancee to be. I have a couple of diamonds that Im looking at and am wondering if a 1.7 carat radiant cut diamond would be too large for her 4.25 ring size. (5 foot 6, petite). Ive read radiants look smaller than rounds do carat for carat. I building this ring from scratch and I live in foreign country where anything other than a round diamond over 1 carat is WOOOOOOW and unavailable, so Id appreciate it if some of you lovely ladies would show me your rings or give me some advice.
Thanks kindly,
Another man without a clue. :saint:

I am posting from my phone so I can't add a link but, if you search under my name you can find posts that show my ring. My finger size is 4.5 and my center stone is a 1.98 Elongated radiant. I don't have a halo but maybe it will help you for a real life perspective. I am a lot shorter than your girlfriend but I love my radiant.

Good luck

nope- no diamond is ever too big :)

Well, I think part of it depends on where you live and whether she would feel comfortable with such a large and blingy ring. My tendency is to think that 1.5 with a halo would be really large on such a small finger.

I think it depends on your girlfriend's personal style - does she favor big bold pieces of jewelry, or is she more conservative and understated? Everyone is different, some feel self-conscious wearing a large stone, others love it! It really depends on her taste, what she likes, and what she would be comfortable wearing.
