Shipping from Canada to QUEST to add halo- taxes?

Hi everyone,

I plan to ship my ering from here in Canada to Pete at Quest in WA and I am wondering what kind of taxes I should expect to pay when Pete ships it back to me.

Will I pay the taxes on the value of the halo that Pete added?

Or will I be taxed on the replacement value of the entire ring ( let's say 13k ) that will be written on the package on the way back to Canada from the U.S.?

I just have to say that it's great that Quest will add a halo for you. I also had a great experience with Quest modifying a custom ring made by another vendor.
