The other thread about best songs ever made me thing of something else - what songs provoke feelings of amorous desire in you, for lack of a less smutty term?

I once listened to Melissa Ferrick's Drive for about 8 hours on repeat (I was so absorbed writing a paper that I wasn't even paying attention to what was on in the background). I don't know if anyone is familiar with the song, but at the end of 8 hours I was quite, ahem, charged up.

There's one that was released pretty recently that makes my lips go all pouty and my eyes go all slitty: Slow by Rumer

I was curious, so I pulled this song up on Grooveshark.

Oooo I gotta go check out these songs! Are these songs that make a person want to have wild monkey sex?

My song is Voodoo by Godsmack. Not sexy words necessarily but the music just..makes me tingly. Plus, I dig Sully's voice. When JD and I dated the first time years ago, I had a friend who was a dj at the bar we went to. When I'd walk in, he'd quit whatever was playing and immediately play that song. Nice intro.

Oooh, I thought of one! "Hey Pretty" by Poe - esp. if you can find the version with Mark Danielewski reading from House of Leaves.

I always thought Hey Pretty was a sexy song! I love that version, too!

I also think Thom Yorke - Harrowdown Hil, the right version of Ani DiFranco's - Pulse, and Bush - Glycerine are all very lust-inducing songs!

Anything by Lovage, Marvin Gaye, Barry White...

But Lovage is sort of contemporary and sexy without being overtly sexy. Good stuff. I'll think of more and post.

Yep. I have no words for that song. I went to a women's college, and Drive was *very* popular!

...and another one that is another "flavor", "Wicked Game" by Chris Isaak. It was once voted sexiest song of (the year?) by somebody! I first heard it on the sound track of the movie, "The Family Man".

Definitely true about Wicked Game. I've heard other versions, but Chris Isaak's is definitely the sultry best.

Slave to Love by Bryan Ferry - anyone remember the film 9 and a half weeks?

The words don't mean much, but his voice is awesome and the MUSIC...omg I always imagine slow stripping when I hear System by Chester Bennington.

Most Gary Allan songs..

"Nothin' on But the Radio"
"Man of Me"
"Wake up Screamin'"
"Living Hard"
"Baby I Will"

"Man of Me" video (possibly the sexiest video ever!)

My DH knows that if Gary Allan ever calls, I'm leaving him. But, I told him I'll let him still be my handman...

George Strait's "The Chair"

Tim McGraw's "Real Good Man"

I'm Jealous - Shania Twain
Long Slow Kisses - Trace Adkins
Getting you home - Chris Young
Secret Garden - Bruce Springsteen
Let me Touch You for A While - Allison Krauss
Up On the Ridge - Dierks Bentley
I Need you - Tim McGraw and Faith Hill
That Summer - Garth Brooks
You Move Me - Garth Brooks
Collide - Howie Day
Kiss The Flame - Jewel
Come Back to Bed - John Mayer
Something Sexy About the Rain - Kenny Chesney
Everything Else Disappears - Sister Hazel
What I'd Give - Sugarland
Bed of Roses - Bon Jovi
Georgia Rain - Trisha Yearwood
What's Simple is True - Jewel
Into the Mystic - Van Morrison
Come Away With Me - Nora Jones
I've Got to See you Again - Nora Jones
The Nearness of you Nora Jones

Nora jones... yep.

Oh! Norah Jones, Turn Me On.

It's funny - there are lots of romantic songs out there, ones that inspire sentimental and lovey feelings, but very few that do, in fact, turn me on.

Kings of Leon's "Sex is on Fire"

My Fiance is absolutely obsessed with 80's music and can name the singer/what year the song came out within 5 second of a song being on its outta control...

anyways, thats kinda besides the point but when I think of the word "sexy" I think of the song "I just died in your arms tonight" by Cutting Crew. Yum.

I wish I could think of more...I don't know if it's shyness or just whatever...it's hard to think of (or post) sexy songs!!!

Massive Attack: Black Milk
NIN: Closer

Wow! Very rarely have I come across anyone who has heard a track from 'The Eraser'! Even most diehard Radiohead fans don't know about this album!

Let's just agree that you're repressed, Monnie. Look at dragonfly's list!

Rev 22:20 by Puscifer. End credits of "Underworld".

Howzat for obscure?

ETA - This is NOT the type of music I listen to. No one was more surprised than me that I liked it. But I do have a dark side.... :naughty:

I thought of three more. Another one from Maroon Five (I really don't listen to them all that much) "Sunday Morning." I also love Snow Patrol's "Chasing Cars." A more recent favorite is "Crazy Love" by Michael Buble, although Brian McKnight has a good version it's not exactly sexy to me.

oooo
Gary Allan's Till You're Sure That I'm the One
