Hello! I''ve been lurking around these forums for a couple of weeks now...to all you regulars, thanks for the tons of useful information! I''m starting to zero in on the type of e-ring I''d like to get for my GF, and would like to get a few opinions.
While the ring will be a surprise, I know she loves sapphires, so I''d like to get her a ring with a 1ct RB diamond with sapphire sidestones.
I saw this Vatche setting in person today, and thought it was great. It has pear-shaped diamond sides, but could be set with sapphires instead (btw, does anybody know about the pricing on these Vatche settings w/ sapphires...with the side diamonds, the price rises steeply with center-stone size...anyone know how much just the bare setting would go for?)
Two questions: how will the side sapphires affect the ''perceived'' color of the diamond...ie, will a yellower colored diamond be MORE or LESS noticable next to the sapphires, compared to a solitaire setting?
Also, the setting is a ''knife-edge''. My GF doesnt wear much jewelery, and I''m worried about it being too uncomfortable. I tried it on my own finger, and because it is so slender, it felt just fine...but I dont know if it becomes less comfortable with extended wear...anybody have a setting like this?
Thanks for any help! Sean
