I recently purchased a diamond for my engagement ring. Went a bit over budget on the diamond, so am now limited to $600-1500 for the setting. I had originally really wanted to use Victor Canera to do a a custom rose gold setting, but I am pretty sure he is now out of my range for any design work. I am looking online to see if there is a decent setting I can order. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Can pricescopers that have settings that were less costly care to share a picture and where they made their purchase?

I am also wondering if I should be concerned with quality if I were to say go with an Etsy artist; do I need to worry about the prongs and claws holding up, or damaging the diamond at all when going with these smaller outfits? Thanks in advance!

Well, that depends what you want. You are absolutely not going to get a VC, SK, or LM with that budget, not a chance. They run well over 4k for most settings, just the setting alone. Your budget pretty much allows you to get a very simple setting. Most likely only gold, or the most basic platinum solitaire from a stock setting company like Stuller, which most jewelers and vendors on here can get you. If you're willing to set it for now into a simple solitaire, and save up for a little while towards the setting you want, that's what I would do.

Also--Im going to report this to be moved to RockyTalky which is where this thread belongs.

You might also consider looking at the pre-loved section of PS or LT to see if anything suits/fits.
There have been some very high quality settings discounted significantly in the past.

Aside from that I reccommend working with the vendor where you purchased your stone to decrease transit/ins costs.
Many/most have access to the more simple, good quality settings.
