I really like a setting at James Allen but I found the perfect diamond at Whiteflash. Do you just have a local jeweler set the stone? Any advice is appreciated!

Thanks!

Have JA send the setting to WF and they will set the stone--there will be an additional setting charge.

From the WF website:

"If a customer buys a diamond from Whiteflash and sends in a setting purchased elsewhere there is a setting charge, providing the setting is of an acceptable standard. If adjustments need to be made to the setting to accommodate the diamond additional charges will apply"

Ahhh good call! Thanks!

I was almost in a similar situation. Although it didn''t end up happening, what I was considering doing was having the diamond and ring sent to me separately and taking the two to a gemologist/appraiser to get an assessment and appraisal and then pay him/her to also set the stone. If you have already had this looked at by a gemologist this won''t work well. If you haven''t, I understand they prefer to look at the diamond before it is set. As I wrote above, though, I didn''t end up needing to do it this way so I can''t give you first hand information. Maybe someone else can comment on whether this route is worth pursuing.

Oh, if you send it to JA (another option) be sure to get insurance for the diamond before it's shipped to JA.
