First of all, thank you to all the regulars on this site. I've been browsing for the last few days and have learned a ton. I'm planning to propose in about 3 months, and I working on getting my "ducks in a row" in advance. I feel like I have a pretty good understanding of the diamond I'll want (1.2-1.4ct, RB H&A, H+, SI1+) and am currently looking at settings. The question I have is actually not diamond related, most of the settings I'm looking at are a bit non-traditional. I'm considering tension settings (http://www.jamesallen.com/products/item_356-1358_build.asp?module=setting) and other more modern settings (http://www.jamesallen.com/products/item_57-933_build.asp?module=setting). I'm wondering what people normally do for wedding bands with this type of ring? It seems like most bands wouldn't sit well next to these erings, but I don't see any bands made to match up to them either. Also, while I'm pretty confident my GF would like a ring in this style we've never discussed it and I don't want to ruin the surprise. How much of a risk do you think I'm taking with a less traditional setting? Thanks!
