I'm having sensory and information overload on a 10 year anniversary upgrade from an overstock ring. I usually deal with stones besides diamonds for jewelry making...yall are nuts.

I'm pretty well stuck on this setting (open to more halo & leaf designs but not snaggy looking) and matching band (this is important too), but having some difficulty deciding on the stone. Trying to keep budget about 4kish with a little wiggle. Color and clarity are very important to her and size wise I'd like at least half carat. She also wears a size 10 which has been a pain in the butt finding on most sites.

.5 / G-H / SI - 2500

.7 / G-H / SI - 3800

.5 / F / VS1 - 3900

.5 / F / VVS1 - 4100

.7 / F / VS1 - 6300

Leaning towards the F / VVS1. Thoughts are appreciated.

Do not buy any of these options. They are certified (as far as I can tell), and you can't pick the diamond itself. We can try to help you find something significantly better.

Gah I was trying to write "are not certified".

Hi @Zaper The good news is that you can get a super-ideal cut for less money than the stones you were looking at. Here are a bunch from Whiteflash. Whiteflash has an excellent upgrade policy and customer service. You can buy a setting somewhere else and WF will set one of their diamonds for $100.

All of the below diamonds are gorgeous!

ACA. .75 F VS1 $4,361 https://www.whiteflash.com/loose-diamonds/round-cut-loose-diamond-4089768.htm
ACA .73 F VS2 $4,010 https://www.whiteflash.com/loose-diamonds/round-cut-loose-diamond-4081328.htm
ACA .726 F VS2 $3,982 https://www.whiteflash.com/loose-diamonds/round-cut-loose-diamond-4089762.htm
ACA .775 G VS2 $3,964 https://www.whiteflash.com/loose-diamonds/round-cut-loose-diamond-4091528.htm
ACA .812 G VS2 $4,537 https://www.whiteflash.com/loose-diamonds/round-cut-loose-diamond-4089773.htm
ACA .806 G SI1 (eye-clean) $4,014 https://www.whiteflash.com/loose-diamonds/round-cut-loose-diamond-4063435.htm
ACA .806 H SI1 (eye-clean) $3,770 https://www.whiteflash.com/loose-diamonds/round-cut-loose-diamond-4094460.htm

Good luck!

Yes, stretch to maybe 5k if it's right but there's lot of other things to spend money on. Thinking about a vintage one from ivy and rose and looking through the stones @kmoro mentioned, just hard to find one with a matching band which she really wants too.

Ivy and Rose is a great choice. They have good stuff at fair prices, and return policy is good if you don't like anything. Much better than the ones you liked originally, and the owner is very knowledgeable about stone choices and likes to help customers on a budget.

This set is super clasic and a different look than what you posted, but it is a set, in budget and....it’s Cartier! I think it’s lovely.

Or a more traditional halo in budget. I’m sure David has a band that would match. Diamonds by Lauren has really nice quality pieces. David, the owner, is very helpful.

Have you checked the Stuller site? In my experience, these settings are very reasonably priced. I couldn’t find one exactly like you posted, but here’s one ... and maybe you’ll enjoy looking at the site. I think pretty much all of their engagement rings have matching wedding bands.

https://www.stuller.com/products/65...tionType=recommendation&recommendationId=5545

ETA: prices are not listed and you can’t order directly from Stuller unless you are a jewelry business. However, most of the vendors on PS, including WF, can source Stuller settings for you. But to give you an idea, I order a floral halo setting - setting melee is tiny 40 full-cut stones in F color, in platinum, for $1300. My setting from A Jaffe is slightly heavier platinum with some melee for $2000 (worn for two months, currently polished like new and set with a CZ for sale, lol)
