Hello, I wanted to ask the forum advice on how to upgrade my 1 Carat De Beers Millennium diamond to a larger, possibly 3 Carat diamond. I'm interested in trying to trade-in the diamond to get a better value on the new diamond.
What value could I expect to receive for the diamond?
Is selling or trade-in a better option?
Is the value anywhere close to lower quality 3 carat?

My Diamond Info:
GIA Cert- Debeers Millenium 1.01CT
6.54 - 6.59 X 3.87 MM
VVS2, H Color
Depth 58.9%
Table: 62%
Polish/Symmetry: Excellent
"2000 DE BEERS ANTARES 1725" is present on the table facet.

I bought this diamond in 2002 for $8,000. It is a very beautiful stone, but I'm uncertain if the De Beers Millennium diamond has any bearing on the value.

Thanks,
Robert.

From where was it purchased and does that store have an upgrade policy?

Your best bet would be upgrading with the original store (if possible), since selling outright will be at a considerable loss.

HI:

Welcome.

What criteria do you specify when you say "lower quality" 3 carat? What does lower quality mean to you?

cheers--Sharon

Your best bet is through the vendor your purchased from.
A 3 carat that doesnt look like spit and pepper will be well over 25K.
