Selection - Process of elimination

I''ve been on Pricescope for a relatively short time but I''ve been absorbing a tremendous amount of information... you people ROCK! (pun intended)

I''ve narrowed my search parameters to approximate specifications. I don''t have enough ''hands on'' experience to judge these specs well enough so I''d like some advice.

If you had to compromise on one of the following which would it be?

Minimum Clarity: VS1 to SI1
Or
Minimum Color: F to G

Also, if you could say why, that would be great!

Based on my searches, either of those changes generates an approximate 10%-20% cost savings(from a generalized perspective, obviously each diamond is unique.)

I would choose SI if eyeclean as there would be no visual difference between this grade and VS - eyeclean is eyeclean.

I would also go for G colour as to me there is no discernible difference between them and apparently not to many other people either. See for yourself if possible, try Jareds if there is one closeby and compare these two grades.

The above assumes a round diamond of excellent cut quality which are GIA or AGS graded.

Clarity, if eye-clean it is eye-clean, you can''t see it. Color, you might detect.

My search consists of Ideal cut, AGS diamonds only.
