Seeking RB with new specs and budget

I was set on buying a stone locally. For a 1.2, I, VS2, excellent cut/polish/symm and excellent cut GIA stone I'm getting quoted 9k-9500 Canadian with tax included, which equates to approx 8100-8600 US. So my question is- can I do better, meaning can I get a better diamond with better Cs (carat or cut particularly) at a PS vendor? I'd be looking to spend 8000-8300 US to account for the 13% tax I'll pay for importing it here.

I'm beginning to wonder as I found this GOG stone for 8187 and it's 1.3 and looks really good. I know it's SI1 but it's also AGS0.

I like the GOG diamond.

Here's what I'd be putting on hold though: http://www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/round-cut/1.50-carat-i-color-si2-clarity-sku-276719 1.5 carats. and JA says that it's eyeclean. And the certificate (which is not loaded) is AGS.... and they can get it for you on Monday to see if it is an AGS0. If it IS an AGS0. This would be a no brainer for me.

I chatted with JA for you. I asked if the stone was eyeclean. And I asked for the certificate. They said it was AGS. But did not know if it was an AGS0 because they don't have a copy. They will be able to get you one on Monday, however. If you put the stone on hold.

It's reserved . Are you sure that it can be eye clean though? I see a black crystal type of inclusion at around 7:00 that is visible to me. And I thought black crystals were a 'bad' type of inclusion.

Kris thanks for the option but I prefer no flour. Should have mentioned that.

Gypsy I'm waiting forthw ags cert but I don't think I can go with si2. Would prefer si1 or vs2. In the JA stone I can see reflection of inclusion from pavilion. jA defines eye clean as face up. Going to take it off hold.
