Hello,
I''d really appreciate some opinions on resizing my fiance''s ring. The ring is a 3.25+ and she probably needs something closer to a 3. It is a micropave setting from Whiteflash and we are reluctant to ship it back for the resize mostly due to the shipping risk. We do have a trusted local jeweler. That said, locally resizing voids the Whiteflash warranty. What would you do? Photos of the ring/setting are in the below link (hand shots on page 2&3 for the bling seekers

Also, what is the "right" way to change to size? I''ve heard of adding small metal beads to the inside, adding a metal strip to the inside and I recall reading about another method as well.

thanks so much!

I personally would send it back to WF. I wouldn't want another jeweler to mess with it especially when WF is so quick.

If it has a space w/ no pave at the bottom the best way to resize would be to make the ring smaller, not to add things to the inside of the shank...

I''d definitely send it to WF. There''s no need to void your warranty, especially with so many diamonds in the pave that could loosen during sizing.

hey, chiming in way late here but wearing it with a wedding band will affect its fit - it will make it fit more snug. since the difference is only .25 of a size, if you haven''t already had it done, i would try it on with bands first and see how it fits with them. waiting until your married and she''s wearing her band with it may be all the fix she needs!

I''m a little late too. And I''m not sure if you''ll be reading this, as I noticed you haven''t posted since this post. But I totally agree with rainydaze. I was thinking the same thing reading your post. .25 isn''t much of a difference and wearing it with a wedding band might be just right. If you haven''t resized, I would hold off.

Try it on with wedding bands first and if it''s still loose, send it to WF. You really don''t want to void the warantee and shipping risk is really low if you ship it registered insured mail with the USPS. It''s slow, but really safe and cheap.

Your beloved has precious adorable fairy sized fingers...but at a 1/4 of a difference I would wait until the season changed before making a decision. Usually we shrink in the cool months. My ring is tight some times...and then a 1/4 of a size difference in other times. You may consider the spacing balls to be the most accomodating. Bring her some potato chips and see if she doesn''t fill the gap in with the added salt. If she does, you need to maintain that sizing spread. Diet and female issues do effect our finger size.

Hate for her to be without it ...it is so lovely.

I'd wait for the wedding band...2 rings on a finger are tighter than one...she may be grateful for the extra room.

ETA: Oops, just saw this was asked over 2 months ago....likely a decision was made already.
