Hello!

I hail from the rocky talk thread about my sad and cloudy diamond that I'm looking to replace. I am looking for a lab diamond that will fit in my Verragio setting. The current measurements of my stone right now are:

6.92 - 6.98 x 4.36 mm

I'm looking for:
Shape: Round
Cut: Excellent or Ideal
Color: F,G,H
Clarity: VVS2 or VVS1
Carat: 1.2-1.3

I asked for a recommendation from Clean Origins and was given this link: https://www.cleanorigin.com/diamonds/round-lab-created-diamond-47669. Everything looks good from the report end, but when I ran the specs through HCA it came back as not very good. I'm having a hard time finding any that return between the 1-2 scale.

Does anyone have any recommendations to share? I am less inclined to look on Brilliant Earth because I visited their showroom and had a less than stellar experience.

HCA of 1.9, it is a vs1 though, GCAL certified.

Also HCA of 1.9, VS2, GCAL certified

HCA of 1, but it is I in color, VS2, GCAL certified, and there isn't a video, so you'd need to see if they can get you images and video.

HCA of 1.3, it is a 1.3carat G VVS2, with close to 60/60 dimensions, so it will likely face up pretty bright, but might not have as great of sparkle (I'm getting a 60/60 and I'm waiting very impatiently for it to arrive to see if I actually like it).

It's from Brilliant Earth, a 1.3carat G VS2, GCAL certified, but you have to ask for the certificate.

Anyways, I hope this helps.

Thank you for the recommendations! I tried to look up reviews for diamondfoundry but only found mediocre comments about them. I'd like to learn more towards cleanorigin but I don't think I'd want to risk the 60/60 not sparkling as that's the problem I'm dealing with now for my current stone.

60/60 stones tend to produce more white light sparkle and less coloured 'fire' than stones nearer PS-recommended angles/percentages - neither is right or wrong, it is personal taste :)

Either way, crown angle and pavilion angle need to work with each other for a stone to perform well - that's one of the things the HCA tool checks :)

The first one I linked was from August Vintage. I haven’t purchased from him, but I’ve heard really good things about him.

ADA Diamonds might be another option (color and clarity price ranges indicated above). They do not publicly list their inventory (may be virtual), but their concierge service may be worth looking into.

Thank you so much for the recommendations! Unfortunately, it looks like I may have to veer away from the mmd route as I can't find a local authorized jeweler that would be willing to set my diamond for me. I started another thread in rockytalk about getting a stone from Whiteflash since they are authorized and are willing to set my ring for me :)

May I check what you mean by 'local authorised jeweller'? :)
