I am looking for a square/cushion cut diamond cut to maximize brilliance and fire. I noticed a few cushion brilliant facet patterns and I know there are posts with pictures, but which pattern is said to produce the most brilliance and fire? I believe the hearts and arrows pattern has eight "arrows", four on top and four on bottom. There is a very similar pattern with eight facets, but three on top, three on bottom and two to the side. Does this create a significant difference in the appearance and sparkle of the diamond?

Have a look at the Jubilee cut. Here is a link to the Good Old Gold page with some analysis and comparisons. According to GOG "Perhaps the *most* brilliant modified square on the market." If you do a search you will see that they have a number of these stones in stock.

Thanks. It looks fantastic. What i would love to know is whether there is a difference between the diamonds with the 8 facets on the table with 2 of the 8 facets on each side vs. the eight facet diamond with 4 facts on the table in the top half and 4 in the bottom half.

Both facet pics looks so similar, but I am not sure what the optical difference is.

Also, does anyone know if you can find the Jubilee on Blue Nile?

To generalize, the first type is a modern brillant cushion whereas the second one usually results in a chunky faceted cushion. EDL's thread at https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/thoughts-on-this-cushion.94412/ shows examples of the two.

Here is an other example of the modern brillant cushion (4 on each side).
