Hi all

I am looking for a pair of diamonds for earrings, 1 ct each, they don't need to be ideal cut, vg or excellent by GIA standards. I am looking to spend 8K total. I have been looking around at J/SI1 but most stones I am finding are virtual inventory, so I can't see if they would actually match up at all. Anyone have any suggestions?

Your help is much appreciated.

I think you should contact IDJ. Someone not to long ago posted a lovely pair of earrings on a budget that IDJ helped them with. Also BGD is having a sale right now so you might contact them and see if they can work with you.

Why would you not want at least VG cut?? Earrings can perhaps be shallower depth diamonds (like a "pendant stone") but why would you want a big lifeless diamond earring any more than a big lifeless ring? Cut is very important. Clarity is where you can save, here. Go all the way down to I1, even. Color is up to you.

deia All good suggestions so far and let me save you a lot of time and aggrevation that is a nice budget but DS and I will attest after buying non graded non ideal cut stones we have spent time energy and lost money buying and upgrading our studs.

We are both so happy now with our current stones after finding the right stones with the help of the PS and evendors. so don't sacrifice the cut....alot of PS even go J color eye clean si2 we will help you find the perfect pair.

thanks for the suggestions, I will contact IDJ now. I have contacted JA and they have found a nice pair - they are both .9ct I/SI1

I have a feeling 2cttw is a bit of a push on this budget.

Sorry for the confusion, I didn't say I didn't want at least VG, what I was trying to say is that VG or EX is enough for me, that I don't need Ideal cut diamonds - I would rather have ideal cut diamonds but I don't think my budget works for the size I want.

I have seen some SI2's and they were very included so I am thinking that finding a pair of I1's that look good will be like finding a needle in a hay stack....!!

thank you all :)
