Happy holidays boys and girls,

im pretty new on pricescope and i have been searching endlessly for that perfect diamond for my princess. I''ve found an online dealer that I am possibly considering. now, this is where all of you folks come in. I need help deciphering whether or not this little stone is worth my time and money. and most importantly, whether or not it will knock my princess'' socks off. here are the specs:

ct: 1.56
cut: Excellent
color: E
clarity: SI 2

table %: 58
depth %: 61.7
crown angle: 35
pavillion angle: 40.8
culet: very small
fluoresence: none
girdle: medium to slightly thick

price: 9500

seems to me like a good deal. i just need the people''s vote to help me gain some confidence on this beauty. the only thing that seems a little off is the SI 2 clarity. so if any one has objections, please let me know. good or bad advice would be helpful. thanks all. happy new year.

Did you ever see the one you posted a few days ago? They were going to ship it. Did it not suit you?

You've probably run this through the HCA by now. It came up with a 1.8 and could be a nice stone. Are they shipping this one? Without photos or an ASET there isn't much more to assess.

Is it GIA?

Ditto. Make sure it is eyeclean to your standards also.

I wouldn''t want an SI2 (GIA and I really wouldn''t mess with an SI2 that wasn''t GIA). Yes, I know you can find one that''s "eye clean." These plots don''t show clouds. Isn''t that right? I wouldn''t do it. It''s a personal decision, though. If it is "eye clean" and you can see it in person and if you like it, then, I don''t know, maybe it''s a good deal.

i never did see the one that i first posted because whiteflash said it was lost in transit somehow. i dont know if they did the bait and switch deal, telling me that they had this great offer and then out of the blue it was lost and now they have some type of replacement stone. im a little bitter about that. this new post is regarding a bluenile GIA diamond.

I am totally willing to go for an SI 2 as long as you cannot see any inclusions without a magnification. 1.56ct, E color, Excellent cut diamond sounds wonderful to me and the 9500 price tag seems to be wonderful. i figure why pay for something you cant possibly see, also clarity has nothing to do with how the diamond''s performance, so in that regard, im willing to hunt down an SI 2 diamond to get a better deal in my opinion

the only problem is the feather is directly in the center, im still waiting to hear back from bluenile about whether or not the inclusion is visible (whether dark, grey, etc.). If it comes back eye clean, im gonna pull the trigger on this one and not look back and hopfully they wont loose my diamond like whiteflash did.

thanks for the replies and happy new year!!

A feather directly in the center? Umm, I''d rather have a slightly smaller stone with better clarity, sorry.

I''m sorry you didn''t get to see the WF stone, but I can say without a doubt...they did not bait and switch you. It was an honest mistake or misunderstanding (from working with them myself and from meeting them in person). I''d keep working with them, because they can tell you about the stone before they ship it, because they have most dimaonds inhouse, and they do not drop ship it to you. Meaning if they don''t have the stone in house, they can view it before sending it, and if it''s a dud, they''d tell you and find you a different stone. Bluenile drop ships stones, meaning it comes driectly from the wholesaler, or supplier, and bluenile doesn''t actually view the stone in person. This is not to say it isn''t a beautiful stone, but I''d like someone to be able to look at it and confirm it before I bought it. Good luck on your search!

I own a beautiful, and eyeclean SI2, so they can be had. But the inclusions in my stone are all small straight feathers off to the sides of the diamond, and you cannot see them due to the faceting pattern and the sparkle of the stone. I''d be very hesitant with a stone that had inclusions located under the table.

hi everyone,

just got off the phone with bluenile. they said that the inclusion in the center was not a black inclusion, it was more of a white color inlcusion. i am going to purchase the stone and take it to an appraiser i have come to know. the good thing about dealing with bluenile is the 30 day return policy. i think it gives me enough time to view the stone in person and get it appraised.

heres the link to the stone: look at the GIA report and let me know what you think. thanks guys.
