So, I thought I wasn't into halos.. until I saw this: http://cgi.ebay.com/0-4Ct-Round-Diamond-Engagement-Ring-Cushion-Setting-18k-/380273927425?pt=Diamond_Solitaire_with_Accents&hash=item588a17a501

I have a rather rectangularish cushion (fairly straight edges). Do you think there will be a gap between the "scalloping" halo and the stone? What do you think about the setting in general? Any concerns?

Does anyone have pictures of something like it (where the halo is not straight/flat)? Has anyone worked with this seller, Javda, before?

It reminds me of the Daniel K Rosebud setting

That's just what I was thinking!

I think it's going to have a gap unless you have some of the pave under the corner (so the swoopy parts push out from under the diamond. Might be a waste of pave to have it under the diamond where you can see it, or maybe you can get a better price by asking them to leave out 1 pave diamond from each side.

Very pretty, its not your typical halo, which is also unique. I Like that it gives it a little extra bling but not a full halo to where your trying to gain finger coverage size, because of the prongs breaking up the "halo line" feel, hope that makes sense

Wow! Thank you SO Much, ROL and Antelope. I had no idea how to get pictures of similar settings.

D&T - I definitely get what you are saying.

I think I'd like one that peeps out from under the stone just a bit. Has anyone seen one of these settings in person? Does it just look like a halo? What are they called? (Is there something I can put into the search engine besides "Rosebud"?)

Emeraldlover's tacori where the halo peeps out from under her emerald cut.

As a lover of the square shape, I think this setting might round out the shape. If you don't mind it, no worries, but if you like the straight edges, I think you will loose them from the top view..... The gap is something to discuss with the jeweler who will set the stone, but if not custom built, it is more probable than not. Good luck!
