Hi everyone.

Well I have offically decided there are no diamonds locally that are of any interest to me. I spent the entire day looking at over 15 stones and not one was acceptable. The one jeweler told me I should have been a Gemologist I had such a keen eye for inclusions.

I think that was a compliment,,,lol. Now, here are the 2 stones I am decided between online. Please let me know what you all think. I really value the opnions at this time. I am just so frustrated with the whole process to even think straight. Thanks to everyone here. I have really appreciated all the advice.

Daboyz Mom,

Well both of these stones show excellent numbers. The higher HCA score on the first stone was because of the 40.9 pav. angle. Keep in mind the HCA is a preliminary tool.

I would focus on comparing these 2 stones side by side. You are really narrowing things down now because both these stones are going to most likely be knockouts. Same color and clarity and cut grade. One is just tipping the scales a little size wise, but comparatively what is the price gap between the 2 stones??

I would focus on where and how visible and what type of inclusions make up the si-1 clarity grade between the 2 stones. If they are not visible to you upon comparison I think you will find yourself flipping a coin....

Go with what your eyes tell you if both stones are good si-1's...All else seems to be equal...

Let us know which one speaks to you in the end...

Congratulations...

Yep - check the inclusions. All things being equal, I'd go for the second because the proportions are more ideal. I'm assuming they are both within round. Price would be an issue, but it would have to be significant (or visible inclusions would have to be significant) to discourage me from the second.

Thanks guys!

Inclusions in 2.01 are off to the sides of the stone, one is a feather. 1 small inclusion under table. Eye Clean. Negligible Flour. AGS-GOOD/EX Pol and Sym
Price-14,299

Inclusions in 2.06 are under table. One being a crystal. Eye Clean as well. Faint Flour. GIA- EX/EX Pol and Sym
Price-15,298

Both are definately very close to each other. I have a picture of the 2 side by side, and the 2.06 looks a little more milky to me, which could be from the inclusion placement. I am going to ask to have the picture re-taken. I have the Ideal Scope for the 2.06 and am waiting on the 2.01, I am sure from the specs it is going to be about the same.

Any other thoughts? I am so very appreciative everyone for all your help!

Post the IdealScopes when you have them, it may help people compare...

Both sound lovely, and the inclusions may be the ticket, esp if you have such keen eyes. The HCA scores are similar and both excellent.

Good virtual eye!

Daboyz: You really cannot go wrong, it seems, with selecting either stone.

If you can view them in person side by side, pick the one that appeals to your eye more.

Otherwise, flip a coin....the differences are really that negligible.

NICE work, by the way.....your stone should be beautiful!

I've seen quite a few taugh choices here, but none quite so tough! How on earth did you manage to find two IDENTICAL stones? It was even hard to find some criteria to distinguish them: Sarin pics both great, weights within 5% of a carat, same color and clarity. Really! Well, but the secong stone is lager face-up and I bet the difference in apearance is visible. The cause in diameter difference seems to be the width of the girdle. Who needs a big girdle, if I may ask!? But the bigger the better, when all things equal...

These stones would make a great pair of studs! They're so very well matched!
Assuming #2 is pretty eye-clean, it would be my choice. I saw the Ideal Scope images onm the other thread and they are sooooo close! You'll do great no matter which one you choose!

If the choice between the 2 is that tough, & both Ideal-scopes are similar, why not save the $999 & get the 1st stone. Then you can just roll it into a new setting anyway.

Or a great trip somewhere.

:-)

I agree, both sound lovely. You have a tuff choice.

Definitely worth the money in shipping, etc to check them both out - side by side. At the end of the day, it's your eyes that will see.

Photos just can't compare.

Good luck & congrats early!
