Sapphire engagement ring

Hey I was wondering if someone could give me advice on whether this is a good deal or not. Its a 3.12 carat sapphire and 0.69 of diamond on 18k white gold. The store is asking 12,000 for it. Is that reasonable?

I know that its difficult to make any assessment without knowing the quality of the store, but if someone could give me a ballpark estimate or any advice it would be greatly appreciated since my knowledge on the subject is essentially nothing.

The answer you are seeking depends on the following:
Colour quality (hue, tone and saturation)
Sapphire treatment (untreated, heated, more than just heated)
Total carat weight, colour and clarity of the melee diamonds

OK I contacted the seller and got the following information.

Sapphire: 3.12 carat, Konchanaburi royal blue sapphire, heat treated.

Diamonds: 0.69 carat, SI1 clarity, G color, and ideally cut.

For a blue sapphire that is 3 carats, I would want it accompanied by a reputable lab report stating that it is heat only since anything more than that affects pricing. Royal blue tells me nothing other than it is blue.

Is it pure blue, has a touch of violet or green? Top colour is slightly violetish blue
Is the tone medium, medium dark or dark? Top tone is medium to medium dark
Is the saturation medium, strong or intense? Top saturation is strong to vivid, without being darkening the colour and compromising brightness.

Slight differences of these factors (nuances in colour) affects pricing greatly. The more intense the colour and more evenly it is coloured, the more valuable the stone is. Colour also plays the largest role in blue sapphire pricing. Unfortunately, I cannot tell anything from the pictures you've shared. I also don't know what colour you like best and want to purchase.

Is it eye clean?
Does it show colour zoning?
Is it well cut or does it have a window?
How much extinction does it show?
How is the colour shift under various lighting?

i *think* you can get a cheaper halo (non-victor, leon, steve) for around $3,000 (someone pls correct me if i am off).

so that leaves $9,000 for a 3 ct heated stone, or $3,000 per carat.

in my mind, that is on the expensive side. the stone had better have terrific color, saturation, cutting, clarity, little to no extinction, etc.

I know this one has a wacky pavilion but I love it. And youd think a halo with an interesting undercarriage to hide the underside would be lovely sand though engagement rings direct at least probably a grand less
