Heading to San Francisco with hubby for a friend’s wedding later this week. We may have some time to explore the city (it’s been almost 20 years since I was there last!)... any leads on estate jewelry/ antique stores while I’m there?

Yank Sing and Scoma’s are on my list of restaurants to revisit... would love to hear more suggestions. :lickout:

The reception will be on some yacht in the bay... should be a fun night!

Oh, my!! Definitely! I’ve browsed their website a ton—didn’t realized they have a shop there!

Hubby and I are going to SF in April to visit our daughter. Cannot help you with suggestions, since we have not visited SF since our daughter started working there 4 1/2 years ago, and the last time we were in SF was many, many years ago.
I checked out Yelp and picked out two seafood restaurants that are rated 4 1/2 Star with over 1000 reviews. They are Hog Island Oyster Company and Soto Mare Oysteria and Seafood. If you happen to eat there, let me know what you think.
We also want to try out Marufuka Ramen (Japanese noodle) for a quick super one night. As for Chinese dim sum, we shall probably skip it and wait until we visit Hong Kong for the real thing. According to Yelp reviews, Yang Sing seems to be too pricy, and I am afraid the quality would be disappointing to my standard.
Our daughter eats out a lot, and she can definitely lead us to the right restaurants. Until then, we do not know which restaurants to recommend.
I shall ask our daughter which Vietnamese restaurant for best pho and specialty. When our daughter was working in LA, she took us to a Vietnamese restaurant which has the best Vietnamese food I have ever tasted. It seems that CA (LA and San Diego in particular) has the best Vietnamese food, that is even better than what I tasted in Vietnam (Hanoi and Ho Chi Mingh City) while on ocean cruises.

Me too. I shall definitely drop by Lang’s when we visit Union Square.

I understand that Scoma's has changed over the past few years, Tarantinos is another restaurant on the Warf and is quite good. Be aware of your surroundings while in SF - tourists and outsiders stand out.

I live in SF! Lang is definitely the biggest and best museum of antique jewelry to visit. But if you can take the train down, I’d also visit Joe Escobar. They’re also a museum of jewelry. They are so nice and let you try on everything. I believe PSers are their favorite flavor of jewelry lovers.

There are a lottt more places I can recommend as well if you’re into funky jewelry or if you wanna do DIY jewelry ;)

(Also, if you wanna get in touch, there are ways through LT or IG or FB. No pressure but I always enjoy meeting up with sparkle lovers)

I would love to go to Lang's.

@madelise I’d love to connect if it works! Not sure if our schedules will mesh, though. If I remember correctly, you’re an SLP? I think I remember posting with you a bit when ASHA was in Chicago (I live in IL). This is a second marriage for our friend; they are getting married at the courthouse Friday afternoon, and we are flying back home on Saturday.

Anyway! Post a listing on LT for me and I’ll be in contact! The last time I was in SF was actually in 1999 when ASHA was there. :) I stayed in the youth hostel downtown. Such a fun city!

Which Friday-Saturday are you here?
SF changed very much since 1999.. it’s changed a lot just in the 1.5 years I’ve been here!

Lang’s is amazing! What a fabulous selection they have. The experience of seeing the jewelry there is almost overwhelming !

Today is the day, folks! #langsbeforelunch !!:appl:

After some travel hiccups, we arrived later than expected yesterday. But we got some sushi and browsed Chinatown, and today is Lang’s! I’ll update with some pics later.

Hubby admiring the wares before the armed guard opened to door to welcome us in. :D We had a great experience at Lang’s! Walking back to hotel now—pics of our favorites to come! :kiss2:

Gorgeous! (and jewellery ain't bad either!:lol-2::cheeky:)

We went to the store to do recon for an anniversary band this year... but this cluster ring caught my eye first and it was just about my size. :)

We told Natalia, the SA, they we were interested In rubies or emeralds with diamonds... so she brought out this one:

These were more to my liking, especially the one on the right:

But I want a band-type ring for the anniversary, so we have been looking mostly at 3- and 5-stone rings. This one was a fave. Very red in person, and the miligraining was so dainty!

THIS one was fun and wonky—I loved it! The diamond was a warm color, as you can see. I need to look this one up on the website. Really neat. Hubby said he thought it was “pretty magical, but you’d also need a scepter.” !! Okay, sure!

More pics coming!

My husband spotted this—our teen daughter LOVES eyes, has drawn them since about first grade, and she did a big project on a career: ocularist (prosthetic eyes). So we took a pic to show her. :)

Profile of the “I also need a scepter” ring. Make it a crown while you’re at it!!

These rubies are too wine-ish for me for the anniversary ring I want, but this ring was gorgeous!
